How exciting, Cheryl, that you daughter has a definite plan and is working it. And that, even though she has moved out, she is still close. My daughter is thousands of miles away. Ugh.

Hey Darin, we know you'll be popping in today or tomorrow to start the June thread. Here's hoping and encouragement we'll see you more often during June. You are missed.

Took me forever to decide on her graduation gift. I got her diamond earrings. She loves them. Impressive - no wonder you are proud! And what a nice gift, something timeless and classic that she can enjoy for many years to come. Nicely done. ETA: I don't know how my quote got snipped like that, but my "impressive" comment was in reference to all that she has achieved at the same time as her graduation.

I'm out of cheese and cream, so this seems like a good time to start a trial of avoiding dairy. My diet for the next few weeks will include meat, eggs, vegetables, nuts/seeds, plus coconut and olive oils. I'm used to drinking coffee black or with almond milk, but ditching cheese is going to be hard. It's a good thing avocados are in season, they help with satisfying the craving for something creamy and fatty.

My average weight for the week was 135.3. It was 134.0 last week, and 135.0 the week before, so I'm a little frustrated that the trend was in the wrong direction. But the number isn't terrible, so I'm trying to reassure myself that it will be okay.
Went for a run yesterday. Food was 47c/73p/104f so definitely not my best day ever, but I still came in at less than 50 carbs.

You also started up exercise again this past week right, Greta? That would impact things. Keep the exercise up though! Being smaller in circumference and feeling better through exercise are better than a number on a scale anyway. Giving up dairy longterm or permanently would be tough on me too, Bunnliee, though I know that giving things up regularly for a time can be good toward helping not developing a sensitivity to it.

Saturday log: 1005 calories, 72 g protein, 65 g fat, 32 g carbs. I didn't mean to eat low cal, it just kind of happened. Looks like I will need to add more healthy fats since I'm cutting out dairy.
Breakfast - eggs and bacon, coffee with almond milk
Snack - SF cherry gelatin
Dinner - baked chicken, mixed greens with olive oil & vinegar
Snack - coconut milk ice cream (not sugar free).
I noticed that I didn't experience cravings after eating the ice cream. It's non-dairy and sweetened with agave nectar. I'm skeptical of low glycemic claims, but maybe there is something to it.

I've been exercising all along, but I did restart Body Pump class this week, which is a fairly intense weight class. So I think your argument still applies. Thanks for the encouragement!

Hmmm. Darin didn't appear to put up the June thread. I checked where one can check and I see he hasn't been on the forum at all since May 1. Not a good sign. After my fat fast last week, well, at the end of day 3, in the evening at Mom's I went bazooka with eating. Binge type. Ugh. I stayed off the scale for a few days. I wrestled my eating back into place in the two days since. With trepidation I stepped on the scale this morning but happily looked at a solid 129. Yea! Come on 128.

My neck and shoulders have been sore and ache-y the last few days, but I haven't done anything physical that would cause soreness. I wonder if it's because I stopped taking DLPA. I ran out last week and didn't bother to get more, because I feel like I don't need it anymore for mood enhancement. Apparently DLPA can help with chronic pain, and I used to have shoulder pain every so often. Maybe it's a coincidence but if the soreness doesn't improve in a few days I'll get another bottle. Benefits of DLPA

Good on you for getting back on track after a binge, that is never easy. I haven't gone back to alternate day fasting, because I feel like additional restrictions on top of eating LC will lead to me bingeing. Maybe in another month or so I will try again.

I am doing better. My hyperness has calmed down and I am sleeping a lot better. I knew I had felt bad since January but I had good weeks and bad weeks. I wonder how long it takes to get medicines out of your system? I guess it is different for everyone. Thanks Pam, Still so happy for you getting into the 120s

Benefits of DLPAOh man, thanks for posting this Lisa! I love DLPA. It makes me feel so happy and lovie dovie . DD takes it when she has her period too. I don't take it every day just when I need a boost but I am gonna check this article out and I may take it more often if I can afford to. My arthritis pain is much better but not gone and my shoulder is especially bad the last 2 weeks.. Maybe the DLPA will help.

Benefits of DLPABunniee, the pain that you experience, is it a joint pain or a muscle pain? I get a lot of cramps and painful tightness in the muscles where the shoulders meet the neck. It's a near-constant problem. I gather that DLPA is an amino acid, and I can't imagine that I would be deficient in any amino acids since I eat plenty of good quality protein. BUT I'm also desperate enough to give it a try if it has helped you with muscle pain.

Should we start a new June thread by just copying and pasting Darin's info from the first May thread post? I could do that later on my desktop if you guys think we should go ahead. (It's rather difficult from my iPad to copy and paste large chunks - and I'm too lazy to bother!) I really hope that Darin comes back. He contributed so much to these boards, both in terms of lending his expertise, and just his general awesomeness. If anyone has his email or any other way of contacting him that doesn't depend on him checking in on the boards, could you let him know that we miss him?

Cheryl, so glad that you're feeling better! Pam, congrats on breaking into the 120's! I haven't seen anything less than 131 in years, so part of me is jealous. BUT I'm trying to remind myself that for me (at my height, etc.) low 130's is really better. I know that, and yet it's funny how emotionally attached we can get to numbers. I guess part of it is that I was in the 120's (and even the 110's which seriously was way TOO skinny) when I was in my 20's, and I was in the 130's for most of my 30's. I'm 40 now, and planning to NOT get into the 140's during my 40's. 130's is good. It really is my "happy place" and the right balance for my body.

Greta et al, if you'll go to the members section in the header of this page, choosing that will bring you to a list of everyone who's is a member. Find Darin (reddarin), choose him. Then to the right on the page that comes up you can click a button that says "Send Message". That will be a private message between the two of you....and it emails the person directly. I sent an email yesterday. Now Cheryl has. Let's shower him with the love of many private messages saying we miss him--which has nothing to do with starting the new monthly thread.

Sometimes the pain travels down to my clavicles. DLPA is one of the amino acids recommended in the Diet Cure book. Specific amino acids can be beneficial even if you eat plenty of protein. I was still sore today but not as bad.

Thank you rejoicealways8 for explaining about private messages - I didn't realize that would send an email to the recipient, I thought they still had to check in on the boards to see it. And thanks @bunniee for the info about that supplement!

I heard back from Darin. He is alive. I told him what you guys said about missing him and his awesomeness. He said he was still trying to keep his mind off of things. I am on my PC this morning so I will pop us up a June thread. Sometimes it is nice to have a fresh new month. I agree Greta, it's a pain to copy and paste from my tablet. nkevolution.freeforums.net/thread/170/nk-june-2014-version
