I had a rough day on Sunday, after my big cheat on Saturday. That's one of the MANY reasons that I should know by now not to cheat: I can't cheat just once!!! So I don't know my carb grams for that day, but I would guess around 100-110. Exercise - I did barre work at home on Sunday and went for a run yesterday, so that's been good at least. Today I'm going to go to Body Pump class at my gym. It's been ages since I went, and it's a pretty tough class, so I know I am going to be embarrassed because I won't be able to do all of the exercises, and then painfully sore for the rest of the week from even doing what I am able to do. But I've just got to make myself do it anyway. I miss the way I looked and felt when I was doing it regularly. So I'm going to make myself just suck it up and DO IT. Diet yesterday was better at 41c/83p/171f, but I'd like for that carb number to be even lower today. Weight still creeping up from my carb extravaganza on Sat/Sun. It was 135.0 on Monday and 136.6 this morning. :hugs:Hope your week gets better.

Wow, Cheryl, I am so sorry that your allergy meds have been causing your weight gain. But so glad that you figured it out! I have allergies too, and not just seasonal because I'm allergic to dogs and I have three of them. It definitely gets worse this time of year, though, when mulberry pollen is high, and in the late winter when juniper is high, and in the late summer when ragweed/chamisa is high. Uggh. I've tried all of the "natural" remedies I've ever heard of, and none of them helped me. So I use flonase, claritin, and benadryl. Yes, all three. I used to make homemade kimchi, salsa, pickles and such years ago, but I haven't done it in ages. I really need to start again, because that stuff is good and also helps a lot with my digestive problems. KewlKat, congrats on your new low low! I am just glad I figured out the culprit. I was on my way to ump a lumpa land again and couldn't figure out how to get off the ride. I ate way too much yesterday but the scale was already down a few pounds. 167.4 this morning. Hope getting off the allergy meds does the trick. my house was reeking of kimchi this morning. I will have to be more careful about working on my ferments in the morning. The kids were getting dropped off to a house that smelled of pungent cabbage. LOL

I don't particularly enjoy the bone broth gelatin. I've eaten but no intention to repeat that. I'd rather drink it than chew it.
I started a fat fast day. So far, so good.
Keep correcting as seems wise all. It is different for each one of us.

I think all the rain washed away whatever was making me sneeze. No need for allergy meds today. Here is today's food log. Breakfast - flax wrap and peanut butter, coffee with half&half Lunch - a dead bird and some leaves with mayo Dinner - leftover LC pepperoni pizza Snack - gelatin

Glad you were rewarded with a drop on the scale, Cheryl, even though you are suffering with allergy reactions. Maybe the consistent eating/drinking of fermented foods will help you with them.
Good for you for going to barre class, Greta. Gotta push through the "wish I hadn't stopped/I am going to pay for that gap" business. You can do it!

I wasn't hungry when I got up this morning, but made breakfast anyway. I had coffee and a bunless cheeseburger with sugar free ketchup and pickles.
I've come to the conclusion that I do best with just 2 meals a day - breakfast and an early dinner. I felt too full after eating 3 meals yesterday even though it wasn't a lot of food/calories.

I don't particularly enjoy the bone broth gelatin. I've eaten but no intention to repeat that. I'd rather drink it than chew it. That's good to know. I had thought about trying this, but I wasn't sure if I would like the combo of savory flavor with gelatin texture, because I'm so accustomed to sweet flavor with that texture.

Good for you for going to barre class, Greta. Gotta push through the "wish I hadn't stopped/I am going to pay for that gap" business. You can do it! Thanks! My daughter went with me to Body Pump class yesterday, and that made it so much more fun! My quads and my shoulders are sore today, and will probably be worse tomorrow, but I don't even care. I'm just so happy that I got back into the groove!!! Macros yesterday: 33c/114p/121f Weight today: 135.8

After one day on the fat fast, down .8. Course, that can happen anytime so not necessarily attributing it to that but it is good to see! I am thinking that what shows up on the scale tomorrow will be more in keeping with the fat fast itself. My intention is to eat this way for five days. I don't do a bunch of recipes or anything for it. I don't need to be in the kitchen that much.
Hey Greta, a downward slide for you on the scale! Glad your DD went with you. Doing things together does make for more fun.
Cheryl, how is it going for you today?
KK, what's up?

Not really NK related but I thought you would find this interesting. Especially with Cheryl's recent interaction with her medicine.
DH has been having a rough time lately. Really run down. Sleeping 14 hours a day and still tired. He stood up this weekend and sighed. "I'm just constantly fatigued!" I've been nagging him to continue to take his multivitamin to try to help. Well, we found out today that his multi-vitamin contains coconut! He's allergic. It's such a small amount he didn't have a large reaction but since he was taking it daily his body's just been constantly fighting. Now I feel bad. My nagging helped cause this. He really SHOULD be on a multivitamin if nothing else in his horrible diet changes. Off to the pharmacy to read ingredients labels.
Have a happy day!

I started logging my meals again because I wasn't sure if I'm getting enough protein. Still not going to worry about calories. Today's log: 1338 calories, 87 g protein, 102 g fat, 11 g carbs. Breakfast - bunless cheeseburger with SF ketchup, pickles, coffee with half & half Lunch - none Dinner - steak, eggs, and mixed greens with olive oil & vinegar Snack - gelatin with mascarpone cheese I used this method to tenderize the steak, and it seemed to help.

ugh, I did not want to get up and make breakfast this morning. I'm going to grab one of those Atkins breakfast bowls on the way to work. I've had one before and they are pretty good for frozen meals.

For exercise yesterday, I tried out the new stationary bike that my husband just bought. The seat was so unbelievably uncomfortable that I could only tolerate it for 20 minutes! I have a bike with a very firm seat, and the stationary bikes at my gym also have very firm seats, so I'm used to that. But this one is just awful! The shape of it is weird, and it just hurts. I think I'm going to have to get one of those gel seat cushions or something.
Food yesterday was good: 33c/77p/142f
Weight still a bit higher than I prefer, but I'm hoping that it's inching its way sloooooooowly back down: 135.6

I am doing ok, my allergies are doing better but coming off the allergy medicine seems to have triggered some weird symptoms. I have a ton of energy to the point of being hyper. I only slept 3 hours Monday night and Tuesday night and was not tired at all. I have reorganized my kitchen and living room. Fixed all my broken drawers, and completely reorganized my cabinet. I transferred all my spices to jelly jars with plastic lids and relabeled them. I made a really cool utensil holder out of a big coffee can. I put a lazy Susan on the bottom so it spins and modge podged scrapbooking paper to it. I love it. I hung up 20+ cup hooks to hang all my measuring cups and do dads from in the kitchen. And washed my windows inside and out. HYPER! Yesterday I bumped my wrist over the sandbox outside and popped a vessel in my wrist. Has a big ugly bruise on it and hurts. When I get hyper my blood vessels burst. Can't imagine that stopping that medicine could have such an effect. I took melatonin last night and slept a lot better. All that head fog I was having is gone too. I can think clearly. Being hyper is better than no energy till you start to go crazy, lol. When you find yourself on you hands and knew scrubbing the floor with a tooth brush at 3 am you know you have a problem. I am not to that point yet and hopefully will not be.

Looks like we're all getting close to being back on track, yay!!! I've been (mostly) sticking with this WoE. Started the 50 or fewer carbs again last week. Not seeing any change in weight yet BUT I've started taking allergy meds so it's possible clueless has hit the nail on the head. Also - the last couple days I was off work and wasn't hungry so I didn't eat enough, which I think actually works against me. Anywho - not going to post my meals 'cause I'm feeling lazy but things are A-okay.

Sorry about having to borrow clothes, though. :hugs:I'm sure you'll start to see things turn around soon. It might have taken a little time to get all of the drugs out of your system, but hopefully by next week's weigh-in (you do just weigh once a week now, right?) you will start to see the benefits.

I didn't exercise yesterday because I had a double whammy of tummy troubles and a migraine.
Food was good, though: 22c/65p/120f
Weight today was 135.0
Even though I weigh every day, and plan to continue doing so, I'm thinking about just posting my weekly average instead of every daily measurement. There's just so many ups and downs when you measure daily, I think it obscures the trend if you pay too much attention to that. But taking the average for the week should give me a clear idea of what's going on, so that's the number I should focus more attention on. So, starting tomorrow, that's what I'll try for awhile and we'll see how it goes.

Like you, Greta, my habit is to weigh daily and also not take it too much to heart instead looking at trends rather than "what happened yesterday?"
Congratulations to your daughter, Cheryl! What's her plan for the next year?
Though technically I am starting day 4 of my declared 5-day fat fast, yesterday I ate a boatload of calories, still within the proscribed macros of 90+ percent of fat cals. Through that effort, I am currently enjoying a 2.4 drop on the scale. I am at the place (130) which I do notice the looseness of jeans--my usual wear. I don't own any "fat jeans", what I have has to work. The number 126 is a super good place to enjoy in jeans with anything less even more wonderful. The good 130 number today also has going for it I slept long and good in my own bed last night not weighing until 6:30 this morning. The scale was on a different type floor (the wood at home) where tomorrow it goes back to tile at Mom's. yes, same scale, I haul it. Still, I have a positive mindset about having a good food day and good results from that good food day though it might not necessarily show up on the scale tomorrow. Many variables to consider while watching the downward trend.

My daughter actually moved out on her own last month. She lives right behind me in the trailer that belongs to my sis. My sis is only there on the weekends now and then so Katie has the place to herself mostly and is very close. She is graduating with her HS diploma, an associates and a horticulture certificate. She landed a summer job at the college taking care of the green houses. She is going back to community college in the fall to finish up her horticulture degree. She will be 19 in July and has already done all this. I am so proud of her. Took me forever to decide on her graduation gift. I got her diamond earrings. She loves them.

Thanks Greta. I am weighing in on Fridays but I do weigh a few times a week sometimes just outta habit and curiosity. I am wondering now if the chlortabs could be the cause of the arthritis I got back when I was doing meat and eggs. I Googled the meds and found a few cases of arthritis. It also said people with hyperthyroid should not take it but I didn't find that anywhere on the label.
