Hey yall.. I am exhausted from school! My stomach and body were a WRECK today. Awful digestion, aches and pains. I now only look 4 months pregnant, as opposed to 6 last night, so thats good. I couldn't deal with food all day til I got home from school just now. I had 2 HB eggs and a Quest chocolate brownie bar. Needed to get in some protein even though I feel like theres no room for food. Casey, my mom has super severe gluten allergies, more sensitive than mine. She loves slippery elm. Keeps it on hand all the time. She says it helps her with stomach upset. I think you can buy it in pills. She buys a powder form and mixes it with apple sauce but it is yucky. Helps though. Thank you, I must check this out. Still haven't had a BM, I think my digestion is paralyzed!

ugh! i belong to a FB page dedicated to Keto, today they are driving me crazy with questions almost all of them related to calorie intake - i swear i want to reach into the screen and smack some heads together, one woman was boasting about how she's managed to get her calorie intake under 1000 calories a day...in the next post she'd complaining she hasn't lost weight for weeks and might need to lower it further
STOP COUNTING CALORIES DAMMIT! (i need a smilie with somebody bashing the other person over the head with a bat)
that is all, back to regular programming

Well, another small bounce up to 136 today. I'm getting pretty good at this bounce thing and predict I'll be getting better at it during the next week or two. After observing my form on some of the lower body weight training exercises I did before surgery, the physical therapist gave his permission yesterday for me to get back into that program again (with some minor modifications). So let the muscle rebuilding begin! Then the PT kicked my butt again, which was awesome, and an hour or two later I walked/ran 3 miles. My knee was not happy after that, but is feeling pretty good this morning.

Weigh-in this morning... 187.4 which has been steady for about a week if you leave out the bounces up and down. I probably need to quit testing the limits of how many calories I can eat without gaining weight heh.

That'll teach her body a lesson

That is great news that you got the go ahead to start weight training again

So here's what I'm thinking about daily goal macros for this month, given my goal to regain the 2.5lbs of muscle I lost in the last 6-8 weeks. I know they aren't the typical NK macros but I'm wondering what you think. Daily calories = 1250-1550 * Protein - 30% (94-116g) * Carbs - 10% (31-39g) * Fat - 60% (83-103g) I know I am not addressing activity level, which will ramp up fast in the next couple of weeks, I think... Current weight is 135.8. Goal weight is 120-125. Goal body fat % is 20%. ]A little more info: Height 5'3", medium frame. From Monday's BodPod assessment: Total Energy Expediture (cal/day) for my current BF%/weight/lean muscle mass = 1469 for sedentary activity level, 1801 for low active, 2062 for active, and 2453 for very active. Resting Metabolic Rate = 1185 cal/day Hmmm. I'd eat at least 1500 calories a day assuming the BodPod assessment for caloric expenditure is accurate. As you increase your expenditure I'd try to keep the caloric deficit as small as possible. You're already in an inflamed state post-surgery so a big calorie gap is only going to stress your body further which won't help with fat loss or muscle gain. Protein looks good. You might try tweaking your protein sources. Maybe invest in high quality protein for the next few weeks while you focus on regaining muscle mass. You might also review your supplements and rework them for recovery and muscle building. In the short term you might abandon fat loss in favor of muscle gain and push your calories up more.

Yeah, my little guy is yappy/jumpy/nervous all the time. He's a rescue - when we got him he was bones so he has food issues we have to watch for - he gets pretty worked up any time there's food around. If I'm eating and he's around he will flip out at someone if they approach me because he thinks they will get food and he won't. I try not to feed him people food much anyway but he still acts crazy. He also rarely eats when I'm not around. I will kennel him with food/water some days and he won't touch it until I'm in his presence then he pigs out. If I walk out the room and he's alone he will stop eating. What a character for sure! He now comes in at a whopping 7 lbs - he's a really little guy but has chunked up a bit and looks MUCH better now, thankfully! He's a smart little guy and stubborn! He's so darn cute so I just ignore the barking but we are still trying to work on his behaviors and some days he does much better than other days LoL. He doesn't really do too bad at storms, it's more just regular noises, cars outside, people coming to the door gets him wound up. He used to run off if he got out with no leash but now he uses the back yard well without leash and still comes back in the door for a treat so he's learning Who could resist loving this little guy!? He is a real cutie heh

ended up not sticking to IF yesterday and over ate on LC foods. made bacon and ground hamburger, it was yum. then ate 2 SF pudding cups with cool whip...can't really remember if there was more, ugg. late night stress from working is my lame excuse. still not getting on the scale so not even sure if it really did much damage in the end since still LC. Today had .5 oz bacon fat, 3.3oz egg whites, 1.8oz yolks with real salt for breakfast at 7a. later had 2 big cups of coffee with SF creamer in one cup then the other cup was HWC with liquid stevia. didn't measure the creamer but eyeballed it and usually make pretty good estimates on that since drink that stuff often. my last meal for today is 6.1 oz ground burger (was supposed to eat this in 2 serv but the coffee kept me from being hungry for the burger at meal 2) with real salt, going to have some more HWC for dessert in coffee to get fat total up. So, end of eating window will be 3p for 8 hour window today. next meal will be thurs morning. i know i can stick to it, done it before - just have to stand firm tonight and stay out the kitchen!!! estimated stats (some stuff was measured out though...) for today totals: fat 127 protein 70 carbs 18 76.4548495 % 18.72909699 % 4.816053512 % No work out Mon or Tues :eek:really need to get my booty back to Jazz so goal is for Thurs 545a class Robin you might try doing IF for only part of the week. Like Monday through Friday, if that is your work schedule, and then no IF on the weekends.

Last night when I was loading Epsom salts into my cart I found Morton's Epsom salt lotion. I tried it so far I like it. It feels a little powdery on my skin once it dries but it seems to have loosened up my muscles some. I was thinking of ordering the magnesium flakes so I could make the magnesium lotion that amanda had posted. RoBiN <3, how are you liking the magnesium lotion stuff you made?

Today marks 6 months since I started NK. I might take a maintenance break for a month or so, before continuing my weight loss journey. I'm waiting until the end of June to weigh in, as shark week should be over by then.

The epsom salt lotion looks interesting. Do you think it's more expensive than making magnesium oil spray? I'm doing a lot of data entry at my temp job, and my shoulders and hips are getting sore from the way I'm sitting. I hate my bathtub so soaking in a tub with epsom salts isn't really an option.

@bunniee, probably in the long run making your own oil would be cheaper. But in the short it was cheaper to try the lotion. I can get a big bag of the flakes thru swanson but with shipping it would be $20.00+. Just cheaper for the time being to try the $5.00 lotion till I need to place an order and combine the shipping.

I rub it on my SO's back and back of his legs. It can be intense - like an itch/tingle but it doesn't last long. It was super easy to do and make. I'm still going to take the mag citrate pills, picked a new bottle up tonight after Jazz. It was a great class! Felt good to be there.

Have a good night everyone!
