Bunniee so glad your new apartment is working out for and kitty. Getting paid is always nice. On HCG, one doesn't buy much food so I am not in the kitchen much and the larder is pretty bare. Well, that's been true at my house since I started sleeping at Mom's back in January. It's at her place I get to practice the muscle of food avoidance. Here it is easy because there ain't much.

I got home from my meeting earlier than I thought. 7:00. But family had already eaten and I'm simply not hungry. It's 9:15 now. Do I dare fast until morning? I get scared i'll get sick or binge. Hmmmm. Experiment time.

How did your experiment go? I find I can go very long hours without eating and no ill consequences if my fat content is high enough as a matter of course.
No change in the scale today. It happens and I know it doesn't have anything to do with anything done "wrong." All good.
Anyone have plans for the long holiday? Not me.

With the exception of 4 macadamia nuts and drinks, I have fasted for 23 hours now. Feeling hungry now but lunch is in 50 minutes, I can wait. Proud I didn’t binge or have a bad night’s sleep. Cals 922 Fat 61.65 Carbs 29.59 Prot 16.10 WI 273.0 -.04# from bounce back. For lunch I had a half of a chicken taco salad (in the shell) but I don’t think my numbers are correct.
Got home and DH had chocolate cake for DS’s birthday. You know, it didn’t even look tempting.
I’m having friends over Saturday evening. I’ll have to find some great LC hors d’ouvres because I’m not going to derail myself this close to goal.
TGIF!!

Way to go Storytha! I love it when everything clicks mentally. I know you are loving it, too.
Making the day fine here. I didn't have a serious sinking spell in the middle of the day as I had the past few. It can happen on HCG. I am not concerned about it. Merely thought "I should be still for a few minutes" and then carried on. I got in to my middle jeans today. Not well but in them. By "middle" I mean I have three pair of jeans all the same size according to the tag, yet they are all different sizes in actually. Probably the cut. So I got into the middle size ones, ones without any spandex in them. It was squeezee at first, then you know how they stretch some. It'll be another five pounds probably before I get into the small ones. I'll get there.

I got out of work early and went grocery shopping. Stocked up on eggs, bacon, cheese, low carb wraps, pork rinds, diet jello, and heavy cream. I also found mayonnaise that is not made with soybean or canola oil - Hain safflower oil mayo. There is a tiny bit of sugar but I can't taste it. I skipped breakfast and did not have lunch until after 4 pm, by that time I was really hungry. I ate a bacon cheeseburger with pork rinds and ro-tel dip, and a little later I had jello with mascarpone cheese. I'm full but not overly stuffed. No special plans for the holiday weekend, just some unpacking and relaxing.

Is it weird that I'm excited about waking up tomorrow so I can weigh in? I can tell by my loose rings that I've lost some water weight. Next mini goal reward is pedicure. Yay!

Started off my Saturday with bacon, eggs, and coffee with heavy cream. Other than bacon, I didn't buy meat yesterday because the selection at the grocery store didn't look too good. I'll make a trip to Sprouts to get meat and produce since I also forgot to buy any vegetables. My new stove and oven are electric, and I actually like them better than using gas. I was always overcooking eggs on the gas stove because it was difficult to control the flame. A bit of trivia: my grandfather worked for General Electric in the 1930s and developed the flat coils that are used on modern electric burners.

Kathy no! Not weird! How was it?
How cool to know Bunniee about your granddad. I am the opposite. I find electric hard to control. Glad you like what you have now.
I didn't weight this morning because I left my scale at home. Mom has a scale but I haven't been weighing on it so I skipped today.

Second day of getting back to LC and I'm already feeling less bloated. I ate all this today: Breakfast: bacon, eggs cooked sunnyside up, coffee with heavy cream Lunch: half a low carb wrap with mayo, turkey slices, muenster cheese. dill pickle Snack: ro-tel dip and pork rinds Dinner: bacon cheeseburger quiche - This was so good! I used scallions in place of the onion. Snack: diet jello and mascarpone cheese

In two days I am .8 lighter. I am good with it. I haven't ever lost fast as many do on HCG, part of that is that I haven't had as much to lose as many have. And the closer the one gets to target weight it does slow down. If I were to experience being lighter at a .4#/daily average, I would just make my goal of being in the 120s a week from today. Even if the scale were to stall every day between now and then (it has happened to me), I also know that I am shrinking in circumferences as my clothes tell me. That's what I want more than anything, more than any number on a scale.
It'll be a quiet Sunday for me today. Well, that's the kind I shoot for every Sunday. Pam

Losing .8 lbs in 2 days sounds great! I'm glad the HCG is working out for you, and yes, clothes getting looser means more than any number on the scale.
I splurged and got a canister of Great Lakes unflavored gelatin at the natural foods store. For $18 this stuff better be good! The store also had lithium orotate, so I won't have to keep ordering it online. No other vitamin/health food store I've gone to carries lithium, which is a shame.
I took 10 mg of lithium orotate yesterday afternoon, and felt noticeably more relaxed and happy. It did make me a little sleepy but I'd also gotten up very early and was tired from unpacking and running errands in the heat. At bedtime I took 5 mg LI and 100 mg theanine and was pretty much a noodle in about 20 minutes. I'm a little wary of taking LI during the day unless I use it with caffeine or tyrosine. I definitely would not take it before driving anywhere. I was a little groggy upon waking up this morning, but allergies may also have been a factor.
All I've eaten today is leftover cheeseburger quiche and coffee with cream & gelatin. Not sure what I'm going to fix for dinner, maybe egg or chicken salad.

Maybe try taking 5mg lithium one morning when you don't have to be anywhere as an experiment? Of course, you can't have too many things else going on as far as variants to know--like the allergies you mentioned, being super tired. All that. I use the Great Lakes gelatin all the time now. I use it for bone health and I've gotten strong nails as a side effect....though as hard as I use my hands, they break off pretty quick.

I took a 5 mg dose of LI this afternoon after drinking iced coffee. I felt the calming effect but was not drowsy this time. That could be due to the caffeine, but I also slept in later this morning and was well rested.
Here is my food log for the day. I brined the chicken breasts before baking, and used a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
Breakfast - leftover bacon cheeseburger quiche, coffee with hwc Lunch - pork rinds, peanuts, and cheddar Snack - iced coffee with hwc & gelatin Dinner - cream of broccoli soup, baked chicken

p.s. I am still hungry even though I ate plenty of protein and fat. I suspect PMS has something to do with it. I'm going to try taking a bath, then drink a cup of sugar free hot cider with gelatin.

Gelatin is filling Bunniee. I've gotten to the place where I will drink it straight up hot with salt.

The hot cider with gelatin helped a little but I still went to bed hungry last night. The nice thing about NK is that hunger is mildly unpleasant but rarely overwhelming.
I got up early this morning and drank coffee with gelatin before breakfast. I ate poached eggs cooked in butter with bacon and sausage. My goal for the next few weeks is to keep things simple - Mostly meat and eggs, with a little cream in my morning coffee. Not too much cheese, minimal vegetables, and will be avoiding things like almond flour and protein bars.

Ketostix are showing moderate ketosis, not bad for being back on LC only 4 days. I didn't feel like doing much today and it was too hot to go anywhere, so I just puttered around the apartment.
Here is today's food log. It doesn't look like a lot of food but I had a late lunch and no appetite for dinner.
breakfast - poached eggs, bacon, and sausage; coffee with hwc & gelatin
snack - peanuts and cheddar, coffee with hwc & gelatin
lunch - turkey & cheese rollups, dill pickle
snack - 85% dark chocolate

Hello all! Hope you had a great 3 day weekend. On my Monday "off" I spent 4 hours making cotton candy for our communities’ Labor Day Picnic. Plus hauling, setting up and tearing down 3 hours. Very tiring day. Some of the cotton candy floated into my mouth. OMG it is so sweet. Like bad sweet. I don’t know how these people can eat it. I did eat a hamburger on a bun, baked beans, and had Chinese food for dinner (too tired to cook) so I’m pretty sure I crashed my numbers. But woke up to a loss today-I’ll take it. WI 269.8 for -3.2#since Friday. Yay. I am not quite at my -25# goal. I am 1.2# away. I will be getting up at 3:00 am tomorrow so the weigh in won’t be as accurate as I like. But -23.8#in 5 ½ weeks is good. Now next mini goal is -19.8# in 7 ½ weeks. Something tells me that one will be harder. But sexy 2XX Halloween costumes are calling my name.

I'm having trouble feeling satiated since going back to LC. I don't know if it's due to PMS or because my body is adjusting to lower carb, but I'm hungry even when I get plenty of fat, protein, and calories. I'm not craving carbs, just food in general. If I followed my appetite I would eat more, but it's hard to release the brake and not restrict. Maybe I should stop tracking for the next week or so. Here is what I've eaten so far today. I will probably add a snack this evening. Breakfast - coffee with gelatin & hwc Lunch - chicken salad Dinner - leftover cheeseburger quiche, coffee with gelatin & hwc

Not drinking enough liquids Bunniee? I read once that often we mistake a feeling of thirst as a feeling of hunger.

I probably don't drink enough water during the day, but was still hungry this evening after drinking at least a liter of water. I ate peanuts and cheddar for a snack and that helped. I suspect that once TOM starts, my appetite will go back to normal or be greatly reduced.

Woke up with no appetite this morning. I'm going to skip breakfast and see how long I can comfortably fast. Even if I eat lunch, I'll have fasted 16+ hours. I'm not counting coffee with gelatin & hwc - I only use a small amount of cream.
Ketostix are showing small to moderate ketosis, which is right where I want to be. Darker sticks usually mean dehydration. I'll stop using the ketostix after my body is adapted to burning fat, but I find them useful for the first few weeks.
I'm liking the Great Lakes gelatin now that I've figured out how to dissolve it properly. I wasn't using enough water and it was clumping. I need to get or make some broth so I have something to put it in besides coffee. Broth + gelatin + butter is also very filling for not many calories.

That no appetite thing is fabulous Bunniee. I love that about LCHF. It disconnects me from what I call "the tyranny of food."
I am on day 12 of HCG, so far 5.6 lighter, and 1.8 from a 129 number. I have no idea if I will make my target of 120s by weigh-in on Sunday morning. We'll see!

Yes, I check that site out regularly. Reader stories are some of the best content, because it isn't just some diet guru making claims about their plan.

Hey Storytha, you jettison that 1.2# to reach your first mini goal? Here's to your choices this weekend that continue to support your efforts on that next mini goal. You can do it!
No change for me on D13/HCG. The scale not moving every day is common. Two more weigh-ins til my own mini goal of reaching the 120s by Sunday. I am 1.8# away. That would be a radical drop given where I am in the process. It's okay. I am choosing correctly day by day. I can't make it go any faster.
