I survived spin class!!! I wish I was that brave. Going to the gym intimidates me. Way to go Greta!

Love the green mohawk Storytha. Fun! That cauliflower does look scrumptious doesn't it? I can imagine eating it. I could eat a whole cauliflower on my own so I'd best wait until I have a potluck or something to make it so that I can share it. Greta, my sister took up spinning last year and she loves it. She feared trying it, she was whipped by it for months but she loves it still. After retirement she turned into a gym rat. Ha! I've been a rat today but one of the couch. Not sick or anything, merely not motivated. I did have a coaching call and have taken care of a little other business -- otherwise totally not filling up the day with much. We had lovely, lovely rain today. I've eaten mostly eggs today. Haven't hit 1300 cals so I might have a couple more...we'll see. :hugs:sounds like a nice way to spend a rainy day.

I woke up feeling ache-y and with stuffy sinuses. I think my body does not like pizza! I only had 2 pieces last night, so it wasn't from overeating. I also ate higher carb yesterday, so that could be a factor. My body seems to tolerate moderate carb well, but over 100 g and I start feeling the effects of inflammation. Not hungry for breakfast this morning, but I fixed a turkey sandwich for lunch. My office mate is on vacation for the next week, and I'm looking forward to having the office all to myself.

Good morning everyone!
Well I woke up with a very slight slight headache. Keto flu? I managed to get about 3.5k sodium so I think I got enough salts yesterday. I read somewhere that 5k is goal.. Is this true? Yesterday (my first day) went ok, if you don't count me crying. I cried out of anger and sadness. I was so fixated on doing this WOE perfectly, that I forgot this is a process. I feel much better now and now ready to go full speed ahead.
Yesterday stats Calories: 1552 Carbs: 15.45 Net Carbs: 9.87 Protein: 92.96 (About 30g over what I intended) Fat: 125.74 (About 20g lower than what I intended)
Macros: Carbs 4% Fat 73% Protein 23%
Overall I think I did OK, not perfect. I'm ordered nutiva coconut oil and it won't be here until Tuesday, so until then I'm stuck with Louana or olive oil.

Looks like a great day banath! Congrats! The headache could very well be keto flu, salt does help. Did you get upset because you didn't get your fat and protein right on? That can take a little time to get used to. As long as you keep your carbs under 50 g a day you are doing great!

The butler in charge of my alarm clock needs to be fired. Woke at 7:51 (I have to work at 8). Nothing sucks more than that panic rush first thing in the morning.
Last night went well for DH & DS. DS(9) has to come home every night around 10 and shower because sleeping with his Mohawk hurts his head. Luckily he can sleep in in the morning.

B- diet coke L- hot dog w/ 2/3 bun D- summer sausage, swiss cheese, pickles, almonds S-
WI: 279.8, -1.0#
I'm going to try home made grain-free sugar-free corn dogs tonight. I've never home fried anything before. I'll let you know how it goes. If change my avatar to a bald woman with no eyebrows, you'll know it didn't go well.

A great book to read, Banath, is The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living. You can get it in e-form, paperback. All that. You could also see if your local library has it. I've "read" books by going to the local bookstore and sitting to read for a while. Especially books I don't actually want to own. I hope you'll give up seeking "perfection" soon. All that does is keep us from celebrating our successes and feeling bad because we weren't "perfect." Consider instead "do your best today. Improve what you can tomorrow." It's a lesson we all have to learn and keep learning. Welcome! LATER had another good day, plenty of calories though not too many. Yesterday was mostly fat cals, today "down" to 63 percent fat cals. When one is thinking "high" protein, eating eggs isn't a best idea.

Hey kids....finally found my way back here. Right after I came back the last time, with the new PC, it became possessed and I couldn't connect to the internet. I became deeply depressed about it having spent money to still have issues so I just mentally shut down as far as the PC was concerned and just walked away for awhile. Then my beloved furbaby of nearly 17 years became ill. I spent all my time doting on her trying to help her and in the end had to let her go over the rainbow bridge on 14 Jun. Alimentary Cancer. Needless to say that was another huge punch in the gut. Last week I decided it was time to rejoin the human race and get my life and diet back on track. I contacted the PC support folks and they got me back online. I'm still having intermittent issues tho, so things still aren't totally resolved. I've regained a few pounds due to seeking out comfort foods even knowing I'd be paying a high price for the indulgence. My arrhythmias returned with regularity, some vertigo, etc......so today I woke up and said I was going to find my way back to the living and return to healing this broken body. I've allowed my grieving to control me long enough. Since I don't have much history on this new PC I've had to google my way here and let me tell you that took some time.........lol. Anyway, I'm glad to be back!
I'll read some of what I've been missing and promise to try to be an active member of our keto community.
Hope everyone has achieved some success and are enjoying their transformation.

clueless Yes that is why I was upset. I'm feeling better about it though, thank you. storytha lol You are hilarious. rejoicealways8 Thank you for the book suggestion, I'm gonna check it out. I think I skimmed through their other book. Yes I've given up on being perfect, I'm just gonna take it one day at a time, and keep my carbs low. kewlkat Hi and welcome back. Sorry to hear about your pet, I hope all is well.

Friday Stats
Calories: 1614 Carbs: 7.76 Net Carbs: 6.26 Protein: 93.49 (My max is 105 so I'm okay with this number considering I worked out) Fat: 130.56
WI: 224.6 Down 3.2
Overall I'm happy with my results so far. Last night I had to fight a bit of temptation because the family ate Papa Johns. I ate the toppings from a slice and it tasted a bit sweet. It's amazing how you can taste even a little of sugar once you've given it up. I'm so motivated and excited, I can't wait to see my results after 30 days, and even further.
I hope everyone has a good day!

I've had a big chunk of beef today and my usual gelatin. My fatsecret calculator is telling me I've had 64% fat/36% protein. It's the coconut oil in the coffee that smurfs the percentages. I've managed to jettison four pounds of water weight this week. I want the other two to go, too. Then I would be back to where I was when I returned from California a month ago. From there it is seven pounds to where I was 7 months ago. This is the reminder it is easier to add then it is to subtract.

Please don't think you have to eat lower protein to do NK properly. This post outlines how to calculate protein needs: nkevolution.freeforums.net/post/10367Based on your current & goal weights, 93 g of protein is just right and you could even go a little higher. You are still getting the majority of calories from fat.

Hey Bunniee, thanks for doing some math for Banath.
I am slowly sliding down the scale though still another pound out from home-from-California weight, now thirty days hence. I travel today for an overnight. Attending a business meeting this afternoon/evening. One of the wonderful things about NK is the untethering from "having to eat" at certain times. Intermittant fasting is easily done without hunger. It's a good thing when food choices that support this way of eating are few. Love it.
Haven't done my DailyBurn in a few days. Probably do in the hotel room in the morning, won't today.

Morning everyone. I did better yesterday, having input a plan for eating, but failed by late afternoon. I'm not going to beat myself up but will try harder today to follow my plan.
I did buy another HFLC book yesterday. One I just ran across. It's published in South Africa. I got the ebook as they are out of print again. I've read quite a bit and I think I'll post a review in another thread.
Off to make my fat decaf coffee.
Have a great day everyone!

Hey Bunniee thank you for the link and advice. The reason I was trying to get my protein down was I wanted to be close to my minimum, but I'm still losing so I think you're right (my protein is fine).
I managed to get me some macadamia nuts yesterday, it's my first time tasting them. They are a big change from sweet tasting cashews, but I love them already.

Off to the park to walk and play with my kids. Have a great day everyone!

Hey guys, got some advice for me. I have been back to low crab a few days now, since Saturday. I was feeling good Saturday but then Sunday I started feeling anxious. Any ideas on getting rid of the anxiety. I can't remember having anxiety on lc before but I may not have realized any association. Anxiety sucks! I am gonna try some dlpa.
My daughter got a puppy a few weeks ago. She is so sweet but she has been sick this weekend, that is not helping my anxiety. Sick dogs tear my nerves up.

clueless I was feeling quite anxious myself Saturday. Actually it was a mixture of anxiety, weakness, and feeling sick to my stomach. I chalked it up to low blood sugar. Perhaps your body is readjusting to to having low blood sugar. The only thing that helped me was to sleep it off. After a good nap I was fine. Speaking of naps, I've been taking one everyday since starting HFLC. I guess my body is adjusting because I thought I would have more energy. Then again I've started working out on my elliptical so I guess tiredness is to be expected. Sunday Stats Calories: 1620 Carbs: 19 Net Carbs: 10 Protein: 76.28 Fat: 147.87 Drinking about 1.5 gallons of water daily. Yesterday was a good day. Today's WI was 223.2 so down 4.8lbs so far. Thursday will make a week, so I can't wait to see how much I will have lost so far. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!

Ugh, Cheryl, about the puppy. That is no fun. Have you upped your salt intake since returning to LCHF? Assuming it has been a bit since you went back to it, especially if you are keeping carbs below 30 or 50, you may be experiencing "carb flu". Your anxiety might be just the puppy....and in my view a nap helps everything. Ha!

Thanks Pam. I did just add some salt. The pup is at the vet and he is very hopeful she will be fine. She also has hookworms so that is an extra complication. The previous owners must have not wormed her or anything. We gave her a first set of puppy shots last week. I am not really worried, I have faith that the pup will recover, but the anxiety is still really bad. Hopefully the salt will do the trick. I had gotten preoccupied and had forgotten to get plenty of salt.

Sorry I’ve been MIA. Work was SUPER stressful Friday and Monday. Didn’t get a chance to breathe. Food has been good except for Saturday. Had an afternoon with the Ladies at Applebee’s. Munched on non-LC appetizers and beer. But went right back on track. No 3 day long binge. Sunday’s numbers Cals 1213 Fat 75.11 Carbs 38.09 Prot 47.63 B- Coffee w/ HWC & CO L- salad bar (skipped the pizza-so proud!) D- Steak, steamed veggies S- string cheese, croutons w/ ranch dressing WI: up from Saturday. Not worried.
Monday’s numbers: Cals 1323 Fat 54.11 Carbs 27.14 Prot 57.90 B- coffee w/ HWC & CO L- salad w/ ranch, protein shake D- steak, corn S- Vodka, diet tonic
Feeling good. I am hoping for a close to 5# loss this week (wishful thinking) but not sure I can manage that w/o exercise. (yuk)

Hi I'm glad you and your puppy are feeling better. Oh my goodness I am so full right now, I just ate a double chicken salad from Subway. I used to not be able to eat salad without ranch dressing, but now I can. It was awesome, the peppers and pickles gave it so much flavor. Yesterday went good kept carbs under 20 net grams, so I'm still going strong. I hope everyone is doing well.
