Greta, Coaching can be used to help sort through relationships (work, home, friends, colleagus), get past limiting beliefs ("I have low self esteem", "I can't do x, y, z", and the like), and because of my experience in marketing and communication I can help people navigate those types of issues, too. Think of this type of coaching as it is done in athletics--star performers still have coaches. Or big corporations, the smart ones hire coaches for their executives. It isn't therapy.
A coach: •Helps you clarify your vision and goals. •Supports you through your fears. •Keeps you focused. •Confronts your unconscious behaviors and old patterns. •Expects you to do your best and hold you to it! •Helps you live by your values.
I would not be a great choice as nutritionist or a health coach. My knowledge base isn't big enough for that. Helping set targets for health choices and working through self-sabotaging behaviors in any area I would be a good choice. You could send me a private message to ask me what you're considering and I will reply with if it is something I could be of support to you in.

Well, I have figured out that I am not a stress eater when it comes to NK foods. Water main to Grama's house burst last night so no water until I leave on Sunday. We have bottled water and I'm using the hot tub water to "bucket flush" the toilets. But what a hassle! I basically had to force myself to eat a little dinner. I simply wasn't hungry! Thursday's numbers: Cals 1046 Fat 73.52 Carbs 26.88 Prot 38.34 B- Coffee w/ HWC & CO L- Chicken taco salad D- scrambled egg, turkey sausage patty S- almonds, vodka diet tonic. Going to run home and shower and swing by the store for more bottled water. Hope everyone's Friday goes well. Don't take your running water for granted.

Thank you so much!

My average weight for the week was 133.6, which is fine. But it started out at 135.8 early in the week, declined all week, and ended at 131.0. So that's nice! It may go back up a little, because 133 seems to be a point at which my body likes being. And that's okay. (Not a big fan of this >135 stuff, though.)
Went to Body Pump class yesterday. Not sure what I will do for exercise today.
Beware of Sonic!!! I posted before about ordering a diet drink there, and getting one that was sugary. I called the manager and told her what happened. She said that she is the one who hooks up the sodas to the dispensers herself, so she knew the problem wasn't there. She said she'd be sure to tell her employees to be more careful about making sure they are using the right dispenser. She apologized, but to be honest, she didn't seem very concerned even though I explained that I have reactive hypoglycemia and this is potentially dangerous for me.
Well, on Friday afternoon, my daughter and I were out doing some errands, and it's super hot here right now, and we got thirsty. I'm sure you know where this story is going. Since I was so thirsty, I had sucked down half of a large size Sprite Zero before it dawned on me that it had a sweet aftertaste. Zero-cal sweeteners taste sweet at first, but usually have a slightly bitter aftertaste. When we got home, I checked the soda and my blood using my bg monitor, and sure enough, I had been drinking regular soda. I was so mad! I had done so well all week, being super strict with myself, so to be sabotaged like that is infuriating. I looked it up, and estimated that I consumed at least 36 grams of sugar. So in the space of half an hour, I consumed more carbohydrate than I had been eating in an entire day!!!!
I talked with a friend of mine who lives in another state, and she had the same experience even though it was a different Sonic and different manager/employees. She had gestational diabetes with her pregnancies, and so ALWAYS ordered diet sodas, but got regular sodas from Sonic not once, but twice. So apparently this is a "thing" with Sonic, so be careful if you go there! It's a shame because I really like the Splenda-sweetened flavors that they can add to your iced tea, like mango, peach, etc. But sometimes they will add it to already sugar-sweetened tea instead of the unsweetened tea!
I've decided that from now on, if I drink a soda (which isn't very often anyway), it has to come straight from a can. Otherwise, I'll order unsweetened tea, and add a packet of sweetener myself. And I'm not going to that Sonic again ever for anything.

TMI warning! I've been experiencing bathroom issues since going off very low carb. I'm going to have to make a conscious effort to drink more water and eat some fiber to stay regular. I made a roast beef & cheddar panini for a late breakfast. I'm out of eggs and didn't want them anyway. gretalyn, that sucks about the Sonic fail! I used to love getting tater tots and iced tea from there (half sweet & unsweetened).

Oooh That Sonic makes me so mad. Write a complaint letter to the corporation.
Yesterday was ok food wise. But got home from work and the A.C. was out. No water AND no A.C.?! So after a few phone calls to make sure the unit didn't require water I found the fuse box in the basement and flipped the tripped breaker. This stay-cation with Grama is definitely stressful. Looking forward to Sunday so I can go home.
Friday's numbers cals 1538 Fat 102.3 Carbs 49.00 Prot 73.57
B- coffee w/ HWC & CO L- cheeseburger 1/4 bun, cheese D- fettucini alfredo S- protein shake, Vienna sausage, almonds, red wine.
Going home today for awhile. Neighbor is having a meet the political candidate party. Should be interesting.
Have a happy Saturday.

I ate a variety of foods yesterday, and did not log anything. I paid attention to hunger/satiation levels and did not feel the urge to eat past fullness. Progress! Something I have observed over years of reading various low carb forums is a pattern of people crashing off their diet, gaining all or more of their excess weight back, then returning to the board with a new determination to try once again. Going off LC (or any diet) often seems to happen after a crisis, like losing a job or going through a breakup/divorce. I lost 40 lbs back from 1999-2000 and maintained for 3 years, until I went through a layoff and gained back those 40 lbs plus more. I think LC is truly the best diet for those of us who are or have been obese, but it doesn't address the problem of emotional non-hunger eating. Just wanted to point that out for anyone who may be struggling. My long-term goal is to return to LC once I have learned to feed my hunger and not my head.

I knew the neighbor's party was going to be a challenge. I'd only eaten 2 oz of cheese all day to keep my carbs open. But I still ate close to 80 carbs. Home made Mexican rice, taqitos, fruit, and beer. Sigh! At least I stayed away from the brownies, cookies, and chips.
Ankles and feet finally swelling has gone down. I can see ankle bones again. Yay.
Back on track with a protein pack (P3) and no toast that keeps looking at me.
Happy Sunday

@bunniee you are right. IF I stay true to this WOE I'd does work! But if you fall off the wagon you crash really hard. The weight comes back back on quicker than it went off. SIGH! But I can't give up and this is the best way i've found for me.
I'm glad you are finding your balance with your relationship with food. That is important.

Happy Monday all! I am finally at home now. Got to sleep in my own bed. Loved being with Grama, but there is no place like home (with running water). Sis & Hubby came over to shower and wash clothes. They go back to CA Tuesday. They said Hubby and my Dad dug down for 2 1/2 hours (in 100+ deg heat) and couldn't find the broken main pipe. Think it might be behind a retaining wall. Sucks! I inadvertently IF'd yesterday. Didn't eat solid food until around 1:30. But friend came over in the evening to tell of good news about new job so we celebrated with a bottle of wine. Cals 945 Fat 35.55 Carbs 34.78 Prot 36.91 B- Diet coke L- P3 protein pack D- Chinese food: small amount of rice, 1/2 egg roll, BBQ pork appetizer, Egg drop soup S- red wine, black olives I'm still losing weight so I don't think I messed up too much at my neighbor's on Saturday. I went from my Mom's scale to mine this morning so I'm not sure how accurate or different they could be but it showed a loss so I'm going with that. I feel encouraged. I've lost 13.9 # since last Monday (same scale). That's a lot of water weight. Like I said, I can finally see my ankle bones again. I think anything from here on should be fat. Have a great day. Stay cool.

Holy cow storytha! Way Ta go! Man that is a huge loss for a week! Yeah. You've seen me go off the wagon and gain a ton and lose a ton. It's always water weight. I doubt any of that was fat yet. But from here on out it should be slower and actual fat. I ballooned up 15# in 17 days and took off 13.9 in 8 days. I felt very uncomfortable. I'm trying to remember that feeling so I won't go off the reservation for a week or two next time.

storytha, I'm glad the water weight is coming off. Who knows, a couple pounds of that may be fat loss!
I woke up this morning with a massive headache, not sure if from allergies or sugar overload on Sunday. I celebrated a family member's birthday and had cake and ice cream yesterday. It was a small portion but I hadn't eaten any protein since breakfast and I think it messed me up.
I skipped breakfast this morning but was hungry by 11 am, so took an early lunch and got a cheeseburger. I felt much better after eating. Not sure what I'm going to make for dinner, maybe eggs and sausage. Doing things backwards today!

No scale movement today. Probably a good thing. I think my body is resetting. Next losses all fat! (Still loving on my skinny feet and ankles!)
Monday's food:
Cals 1339 Fat 91.23 Carbs 48.02 Prot 49.30
B- Coffee w/ HWC & CO L- Cream cheese and bacon omlet (with onions & tomatoes) D- LC-ish pizza S- Mexican rice (oops)
90% of my carbs came between 6:00-8:00. Probably Not good. Even though technically I under my carbs.
Also stayed up too late. Tired and lethargic. No interest in my coffee. Just diet coke today. Hope I pep up. Also feeling stress-DH is majorly stressed at work and was wishing he could work somewhere else (which means moving). Though I do think he would blossom in another job setting, I'm not moving. I love my life here, my job, my house, my family. So that's kinda eating at me.

Hi all--off the scale for a few days. Successful fast yesterday, fat fast today (so far so good). Worked in the yard yesterday. Rain today so skipping that. Back into the yard tomorrow (my exercise).
LATER: I am at Mom's with my tub of whipped cream cheese which is part of my fat fast for the day. I feeling confident that I will not be cruising the kitchen for bread products. Yea me!

rejoicealways8 I saw your post and whipped cream cheese sounded good so I stopped by the store on the way home. Why is 2 tablespoons of regular cream cheese 2 carbs and 2 tablespoons of whipped 2 carbs? I'd think the whipped would be less due to more air?? Tuesday's numbers: Cals 1036 Fat 67.40 Carbs 44.21 Prot 39.25 B- diet coke L- bun less cheeseburger, Wendy's chili w/ onion & cheese D- salmon cream cheese, celery, avocado, sour cream, dill pickles S- Mexican rice (sigh) So I'm the crazy person craving hot soup in 103 degree weather. I saw a Pintrest post about Faux potato soup (cauliflower) w/ cheese & bacon and I Craved soup. Luckily Wendy's was close by. I still want to make the faux potato soup but that requires actual cooking and I'm allergic to that this week. Have a happy hump day!!!

Whenever people give me food from, say, a pot luck...that is if it kinder to them to take then for me to get them to give it to someone else, if I can I throw it away right away. I did that recently...someone had brought cinnamon bread products (uh, that would be me because a friend is starting up a cottage bakery) and the hostess asked me please not to leave them with her--the few leftovers. I didn't want them in my car at all because I might have scarfed them down before I reached the end of the driveway. When she wasn't in the kitchen, I stuck them in the bottom of her kitchen trashcan squashing their siren's call to both of us. I didn't tell her what I had done.
You may have the Mexican rice in your house for other reasons but if you are eating it then you could throw it away--it has a better outcome than you eating it. Ha!
I dropped a couple pounds of water weight from yesterday to today and still have four pounds to go until I am back where I was when I got back from California a month ago. I am in a good place about it--mentally, I mean. I am doing fast today (joining with missionary friends and the fast isn't about diet). Tomorrow I will be at home so will probably do another fat fast or a protein day. We'll see.
Working out in the yard so I best get back to it before it is too hot for me to bear.

Your carbs are still under 50 g for the day but if the leftover Mexican rice is making you feel anxious, maybe throw out the rest. I'm becoming less obsessed with food as I work on eating only when truly hungry. It's very freeing after spending so many years in diet mode or pre-diet mode. I'm logging meals but not restricting - if my calories or carbs are high for the day yet I'm still hungry, I won't deny myself more food. It makes me a little nervous but I have to trust the process and my body.

I am practicing the throwing food away thing myself. I try to leave some food on my plate at each meal and throw it out. I am trying to get rid of my emotional ties to food and just throw it away. Me and my sweet girls and our dogs had a really nice walk tonight. The weather was so nice this evening!
I got some aromatic bitters that Greta told us about. YUM!

So wonderful Bunniee that you are having such success listening for bodily signals of hunger and having the wonderful benefit of food-obsession lessening. Yea!
Went out for a lovely dinner gathering in the country with my Wednesday night friends. Because I am fasting I didn't eat and I didn't feel deprived. I was hungry mid afternoon and it passed. Now I am having an empty-stomach feeling but am okay with it. Having some decaf coffee with coconut oil in it. I'm fine for the evening. We'll see what I decide about food tomorrow. Still will either be a fat fast day or a protein day.
I worked out in the yard for quite a while today. Digging, pulling, planting. Two hours? A good day!

It's a protein day. Ate a hamburger patty already this morning (I got up at 5. It is now 6:30). I have eggs at home and not much else so that's what I will probably eat the rest of the day. Might get some more yardwork in this morning before a busy afternoon.

I woke up with allergy/sinus symptoms and no appetite. Coffee was not appealing, so I washed down my supplements with diet coke. I may try to fast until dinner, but will see how it goes.
Hope everyone has a lovely day!

I got some aromatic bitters that Greta told us about. YUM! I'm so glad you liked them! I've been doing well. Really well on my food. Missed one day of planned exercise, but that's no big deal. Trying to work up the courage to go to spin class today. I noticed that I've been getting headaches on the days that I run, so I'm going to try something different and see if that helps. Spin class is a little bit intimidating because it's a lot more intense than my runs. But it IS really fun once I make myself just go ahead and do it.

Felt no hunger last night. Almost didn’t eat at all but was worried I’d suddenly feel starved and attack the rice. (I really did mean to throw that out but didn’t-stupid “don’t waste food” mentality)
I was, however, just craving a Gyro. The one at the Pita Pit was less carbs than going to the actual Greek restaurant so I settled for that.
Cals 604* Fat 21.93 Carbs 45.74 Prot 21.39
B- diet coke L- ¾ Gyro pita D- imitation crab S- ¼ apricot (not ripe enough), vodka/diet tonic WI -.03# to weigh back to 280.8 (only .8 up from before my long fall from grace 28 days ago)
*remember when I said I wasn’t sure I could do a 500 calorie diet on HCG? Ha. This is me without trying. I did double check that I hadn’t forgotten to log anything. This seems ridiculously low. Even for me.
DH & DS are in a play starting tonight and the next 3 weekends. Very fun. DS (9) has a 4 ½ inch tall Mohawk that DH dyed green last night. It’s a weird dye that doesn’t show up very well except under black light. I have tickets to see him Friday. I was nervous that DS would get stage fright but he seems to be taking it all in stride. He is a very calm boy.
So I’m reading at night with the TV off and find I don’t want to snack/munch. Late evening snacking is one of my big problems. But when reading there are no commercial breaks to get up and prowl the kitchen.
I got a haircut yesterday. I feel Sassy and pampered as I had her wash and dry and set . Isn’t the hair salon wash/massages just the best!
Sorry so long. I must be chatty today.

Love the green mohawk Storytha. Fun! That cauliflower does look scrumptious doesn't it? I can imagine eating it. I could eat a whole cauliflower on my own so I'd best wait until I have a potluck or something to make it so that I can share it.
Greta, my sister took up spinning last year and she loves it. She feared trying it, she was whipped by it for months but she loves it still. After retirement she turned into a gym rat. Ha!
I've been a rat today but one of the couch. Not sick or anything, merely not motivated. I did have a coaching call and have taken care of a little other business -- otherwise totally not filling up the day with much. We had lovely, lovely rain today.
I've eaten mostly eggs today. Haven't hit 1300 cals so I might have a couple more...we'll see.
