Sooooo - I have a dilemma. I'm attending a wedding tomorrow (geez, almost typed funeral... LOL). I have NO clue what will be on the menu. I've started my log for tomorrow. It includes my morning coffee, some sunflower seeds, my diet Mt. Dew (I know... not actually healthy, but I do love it and 1/2 of a Jimmy John unwich (1/4 for b'fast, 1/4 for lunch).
This leaves me: 774 calories, 41g protein, 35 carbs and 58g fat for the dinner. Obviously, I'll do my best to load up on veggies and protein (and butter... lol).
Is this the best plan? Guesstimate what I'm eating? Or should I push the food around on my plate and make my own dinner at home... or maybe decide once I see what's on the menu?
I don't want to be rude or wasteful... but I've been super good about following this WoE (well... super good for me! lol) and I'm worried I'm going to fall off the wagon. I'm losing VERY slowly, but steadily, it appears. So I don't want to stop the progess...

When will you find out what is on the menu? Before you arrive? Maybe eat bfore you go so you are not starving and set your self up for off plan eating. then decide you are there for the happy couple and not the food. Just enjoy the good times and company. No one really usually cares what you eat as long as you are having a good time.

reepicheep1981 I think your planning ahead is a good idea. Maybe pack something in your bag if you get really hungry. I wouldn't worry about wasting food or being rude. No one will comment. Hope you have fun.

I agree. I wouldn't be concerned about hurting anyone's feeling. You can always say you're not hungry, or not feeling well, or you have a little tummy upset, or that you're so excited for the bride and groom you're not hungry or you had a gigantic breakfast. Any excuse will do. If there is something on your plan there--go ahead and eat it. Otherwise, smile beautifully and chat with people.

reepicheep1981, another way to think about the wedding food is that if you don't eat the food it isn't wasteful. Putting something into your body to please others isn't necessarily a "better" way so that it makes it not wasteful. Think of yourself as allergic to the food that isn't on your way of eating. Would eating something that causes physical distress so as not to be "wasteful" a good thing? Though the distress of eating food not on your way of eating isn't akin to an allergic reaction, it is stressful to you and distress to your body.

Storytha & Rejoice... thanks! I'll do that. I have a feeling there will be something I can eat - even if it's just salad. It's a small group but I won't know many people there so I guess I shouldn't worry about anyone noticing or saying anything.

Monday's log: www.fatsecret.com/Diary.aspx?pa=fjFat Carbs Prot Cals 105.31 52.17 80.07 1574 Tuesday's log: www.fatsecret.com/Diary.aspx?pa=fjFat Carbs Prot Cals 107.50 51.50 80.95 1533 Went a weensy bit higher on the protein and carbs... not intentionally. My ability to cook and plan has been a bit stunted with longer work hours and work-provided meals lately, but I'm not stressing about it. As long as I'm close I'm proud of getting near my goals during our end-of-quarter reporting (I work in finance) which is normally the time I throw all common sense to the wind. lol

For the most part I find that people are not paying attention to what I eat. Oh sure, I might have to say something once and then it goes on. Always have something else to change the conversation to.

Today is our anniversary, 4 years. Oppps I thought it was 5 years and DH was Like OMG I can't believe you didn't remember how many years we have been married. LOL
2 more days and we are so outta here. I am going to rest rest rest. I am so tired. Nice that the kids are old enough to take care of them selves a few day. And my sis can walk a little now so she will be right next door and can make sure things are ok.
I still am not weighing. My tummy is the only thing worrying me. It seems big but it was already bigger since I had gained the 10 lbs. My clothes are fitting the same. I am getting in lots of exercise. Guess that is one reason I am so tired, not sure. Trying to walk 4 to 6 miles a day and do yoga for an hour or so every other day. Is exercise supposed to help arthritis?

Must have gotten back into Ketosis pretty quickly this time. I was simply not hungry last night. Was worried that about 10 pm I would become ravenous but never did. Tuesday numbers: Cals 1082 Carbs 43.57 Prot 34.71 B- Coffee w/ HWC & CO, hard boiled egg L- French onion soup, side salad w/ ranch, white roll w/ butter D- 1 Chicken McNugget & 2 French fries. S- String cheese, pickles No WI for a while yet. Don't want to get discouraged. I'm pleased with the lack of appetite. I will make sure to eat tonight, but last night was Cub Scouts and just busy. Scheduled DD's paintball birthday party. I couldn't talk her out of it. What ever happened to the princess or cowgirl themed parties? Oh well. What ever she wants.

Rejoice - That's a different way of thinking for sure! I'll be with a co-worker who is the only person I'll know there... I have a feeling with the allotment of carbs I've left for this meal, I probably can fake my way through it. Clueless - hope you get some rest... and relief. *hugs* Storytha - I'm a bit of a girly girl... and I LOVE laser tag. I can see where paintball would only be a small step away espcially if she has brothers... though I'm definitely too much of a wuss to even try it for fear of pain. lol

OMG! Lunch was grilled salmon, bacon, fresh baby spinach and wasabi sauce sandwich with side salad. It was on a bun but I'll work that into my numbers. SO DELISH! :yummy:Note to self that fresh grilled salmon takes longer on a work day lunch but worth being 5 mins late. clueless Happy Anniversary! Funny about the years. Just tell him it feels like you've been together FOREVER! HA! I hope you have a great little get away!

Except I have been very draggy and tired today. DH said he was worried I was upset since I had been so quiet all day. I said no I am just extremely tired, wonder if my thyroid is having an off day or something.

Good morning, hope you all have tomorrow off. I weighed today, 160.0 I didn't get upset though. I have not been tracking, have inflammation in my joints and have been doing a lot of exercise so it wasn't horrible. My lowest weight was 145 but mostly averaged 149.0. I have gained 10 to 15 labs depending on the TOM. Oh yeah TOM is starting too. (of course when you get a weekend away TOM decides to show up)

I think I will take my paints and get some painting in. I found the coolest metallic watercolor set on clearance for a dollar. I did a painting last night that turned out so neat.

Good for you, Cheryl, for not letting the scale dictate your mood. That is some serious progress. And for soothing your soul with your painting. Post us an image sometime. Would love to see.
I am doing well with eating on plan this week. Yea! I've had to navigate a few food events (eating away from home where I control everything) and did them well enough. I weigh tomorrow as that is the one morning a week where I sleep/wake-up in my own home.

Happy Thursday, everyone! It's my Friday as I have tomorrow off. (Thankful for having Catholic bosses! )
My numbers for yesterday: Cals: 1398 (a little more like it!) Fat: 92.66 Carb: 50.17 Prot: 89.8
B- Coffee w/ WHC & CO L- Salmon, Bacon, Wasabi sandwich (with bun), Salad w/ ranch D- Steak, Veggies, little bread w/ butter
My LC dinner planned due to eating bread at lunch kinda flew out the window when DH wanted Outback for dinner. Quality of the steak left something to be desired. But I found myself continuing to be hungry afterwards. Very different from the day before. My cals and protein were good but Carbs suffered.
Very happy with the huge quantity of work I achieved yesterday and anticipating tons done today as well so I won't stress over the weekend and threaten to come in on my day off to make 650 booklet copies. If I get a chunk of it done today I will relax over my three day weekend. No other plans except yard work.

hey all! not doing so great...but just feeling like a sad sack so won't go into lots of moaning and groaning. not getting on the scale because pretty sure i'm back over 200. stomach feels HUGE and bloated and miserable today, thanks wheat/gluten for being in delicious LC prot bars that I love to binge eat on for no reason late at night even when i'm 1000% not hungry. so blah blah, mad at myself for being uncaring but clearly not mad enough to work on my bad habits. not motivated to cut dairy or coffee or to workout. my birthday is Sun...34 this year and getting heavier and heavier...so maybe today i will do better, that's what i tell myself each day and then it goes down the tube at night...but such is life, eh. feels like i NEVER eat carbs but get fatter and fatter every day so i know i'm not doing anything correctly but still not giving into eating even worse so there is still some silver lining...i'm not back to eating an entire box of pop tarts in my car then doing 4-5 hours of cardio the next morning...so, yeah, good times i really hope all of you are doing WAY better than I am and will continue to hop on the boards to read about your success because it does help me try to remember this WOE does work if you do it right. if you don't do it right, it's like any other WOE...it won't work, duh robin lol...I'm part of a keto group on FB and that sometimes helps but not always with their pics of fat bombs etc...it's like how do you make a fat bomb and not eat the entire thing? i clearly have food issues

I continue to struggle too. Finding myself adrift-trying to stay focused! I hope you have a better day today and tomorrow and the day after that! Thank you for your kind words; I hope so too, I know it's up to me to make that happen...today did not cut dairy but only had like 1.5 cups coffee w/ HWC and SF torani vanilla...my stomach is still super swollen from last night's binge and hurting big time but hoping after today with no carbs it will simmer down and get back to feeling decent by tomorrow or the weekend sheesh...focusing on meat/eggs for dinner, some veggies or an avo...I hope you have a great eve and weekend!!

Yes, Robin, we have to tough it out until what we do to ourselves is so bad we are willing to stop doing whatever that is. We all go through it, you are typical in that. Celebrate any victory, at breakfast, at lunch, night when you eat less or differently. Yes, celebrate the good choices you make--but not with food. ha!

I've gone to a round of HCG to reverse this increase in weight I've been experiencing. It's been more than a year since I did a round. I can't wear the clothes I own and unable to pull it together in the food department.
It only last three weeks, though one can go longer but it isn't a way of living for long periods of time. I ought to be back in the mid120s when my three weeks are over. The food choices are super limited so it isn't for everyone. I am not one of those people that loses superfast on it--part of that is that I don't have that much to jettison. The other part is that I am just slow in this regard but I have had success at it.

good morning! rejoicealways8 i agree - and i hope i've had enough! i was sooo miserable these last few days and it's made me sour, grumpy, etc and i don't like it...i dislike it more than i like the crap i've been shoveling in. so, celebrating myself today because last night had no late night eating, went to bed at 10p instead of after midnight. woke up feeling MUCH better. stopped at Lucky's market for kombucha - 14 carbs for breakfast yikes but it's SOOO good for you (according to what i've been reading) so decided early morning carbs are worth it and besides that i still have 36 carbs to go! brought ground burger which i'm about to eat now and 2 cans of "fancy" tuna that were pricey but maybe "better" for me - pretty sure i'm going to just go back to regular 'ol store brand from walmart but still wanted to try a few cans of the good life LOL...picked up 2 avo's for today (not too large so both shouldn't kill my carb count) and some ground himalayan salt, doesn't say pink on the label but has pink in it so assume it's the same; it was pricey as well but will last a while. got some silk unswt almnd milk incase i MUST have coffee...so, NO DAIRY this morning!!!! 2 NSV's so far today (last night resting and not eating and this morning no HWC or HH) WOOO! so, breakfast/lunch planned for. Dinner will be out and planning for no alchohol tonight and just having 2 eggs and some bacon for dinner. we are going to a movie and most likely i just won't snack or i'm going to bring unswt shredded coconut to munch on. so, yay, the sun is shining and i'm not nearly as grumpy and b*tchy as i have been all week! hallelujah.

I wanna be a person that loses superfast...get myself back on TRACK...do you take pills or is it a shot or something? I wish you the best on this round!

I've done drops before and injections which I am doing this round. There are pellets, too. If you go here, www.poundsandinchesaway.com/dr-simeons-manuscript-hcg-diet/, you can read the write up for Dr. Simeon, the one who developed this back in the 1940s. You can see what is allowed to eat under "The Diet". Many people do it differently (my HCG friends and I call it "rogue"--and many of them are rogue in this sense and still successful enough.) Glad you are in a better mind frame today Robin. That is what determines our success more than anything else. Pam
