Numbers and log for today. Kind of an odd day for eating for me. I had poppers for lunch but I wasn't able to eat dinner till late so I just had a couple of pork chops that I had already cooked and in the freezer. It was weird, though, with my calories being that "low" after having them so high the last few weeks.
Calories: 1,957
Fat: 165 Pro: 97 Car: 22
75/21/4
Breakfast: Iced coffee & HWC, CO on the side. Lunch: Poppers, broth [bacon grease, bouillon, cabbage]. Dinner: Pork chops. Snack: None.

I got over my cold or whatever it was, but allergies are still acting up thanks to ragweed pollen. I went to bed before 8 pm last night, woke up at 5:30 this morning.
I have a lunch meeting at work today - not sure what they will be serving but will do my best to keep low carb.

Katie's test came back. They showed no egg or wheat allergy but the marker for Lupus was a little high. Her Dr wants to check her again in 3 months. She is still gonna stay away from wheat.

So no obvious reason for the symptoms then. How long will the Rx meds last? Like a week or ten days? Wheat is evil so good for her on giving it up!

No workouts and it is driving my SO nuts - oh the h*ll well is my response LOL he's a HUGE fitness buff; works out LITERALLY 2-3x per day - minimum of 2x daily period. He is a nut. Not my problem! So yeah, I know he's trying to come from a good place to help my stress levels but I don't want to hear about it so shut the heck up is my initial reaction LOL...he is DEF never going to buy into "working out isn't needed" type of thing...his fitness goals are not for weightloss but to feel better, stress relief..fun (gross...) so yeah he wants me on board to make sure I live a longer healthy life but guess what I'M STRESSED and feel like I don't have enough time in the day to do ANYTHING...so yeah yeah, I know it's all excuses and I should find the time...but working out to relieve stress that is caused by the reminder that I need to workout isn't HELPING me LOL...so yeah, I'm a bit frazzled but sticking to this WOE cuz I do believe it's the best for me. Hopin everyone is having a GREAT week so far! I prob won't get to touch base with the group until next week so enjoy the weekend everyone! Hmmm. If you can get him to help you with a specific fitness goal you can channel his focus. What I'd try is to tell him that you have so much on your plate right now you just can't do everything and workout a lot but can he please design something especially for you that only takes 15 or 20 minutes a day that is purely about stress relief? You can point out that anything along those lines will also keep your current fitness stable even if it doesn't push you forward for fitness. The situation is a win/win. Exercise does help with stress relief and you can certainly use that. He gets to do what he wants, which is to help you with fitness in a very meaningful way. You might also point out that lots of exercising (quantity) raises cortisol levels, I'm sure he is aware of that, and with the other stuff you have going on, you are concerned about your coritsol being high already and an aggressive workout schedule will just make it even higher.

Weigh in: 173 for a 1.6 lb bounce. My allergies are in full attack mode, so it's probably just inflammation. I forgot to take measurements in September, so I did that today. I'm down a half inch in my waist and hips since my last measurement. ETA: Correction, got my measurements wrong before. Awesome measurements Lisa!!

Oh yeah, I should have looked there. I'm not sure I did. Sometimes I listen to several interesting podcasts but don't post about it because there are some notes I'd like to take before posting. Or I get a bit behind because there are a few hours worth (several podcasts) of information and I never get around to making the post.

Weigh-in this morning ... 178.1 for a one point four drop but I figure with my extreme calorie restriction yesterday I should have weighed about 160 this morning

Hmmm. I've been thinking about the end of month WI ever since it was suggested. Here are my observations concerning it. The idea of defining weight loss success based on calendar dates sounds good but in practice it leaves a lot to be desired. If you think about it, you are not observing a trend over time by comparing two data points. That old math saw about two points making a line but a third point is required to check the line applies because a line is meaningless without the context of a graph. But you need more than three data points to form a meaningful graph of information. A long time ago (on the Evil Forum) I made a post about the shifting window of water weight that Dr. Phinney spoke of in the Long Term Stalls podcast. What he said was that any given person has a plus or minus two pound fluctuation in water weight so you can lose four pounds in four weeks, which is awesome, but if your water weight is up at the end of the four week period it can completely or partially hide the fat loss. Sort of like those horizontal blue lava lamps from the 70s and 80s. It would be more informative to keep an eye on a rolling four week average of weigh-ins. Or even a rolling four week window of lowest weigh-in for that moving window if you are fastidious about staying on plan with no excursions to Carb Land. But two calendar dates are very arbitrary for tracking weight loss. For example, on 8/31 my WI was 179.4 and on 10/03 it was 179.5. That looks terrible. But my rolling four week average, that is the average of weigh-ins for the four week window ending on 8/30 was 181.53 and on 10/02 it was 178.11. So the reality is that my weight trended down about three pounds over that period but just picking two dates that are ~four weeks apart (e.g. calendar dates) shows bad news and completely hides the weight loss. Also, what was going on at the end of last month in your life? TOM? Did you have a cold? Injured? Flare up of some condition? Stress in the home? Workout too much? Trouble sleeping? All that stuff can affect your acute weigh-in for days or even weeks. Love this post, Darin..Sometimes daily WI if not viewed in monthly context can so sabotage your whole mental attitude about this program, kinda like the i f one tire goes flat might as well might as well puncture the other three attitude. Step on a scale and a 2lb increase when you've been "good" and what the H*&^L might as well chuck it for the day..week. and eat what I want takes over..have seen it on some post and feel so bad for those when that happens. Your body will do what it wants it's ready to do it..just breathe..breath is such a gift So, don't get discouraged by a bad weigh-in that happens to coincide with the end of the month. Keep any eye on the trend over time. If you track the end of month WI be sure to make a note for yourself what was going on that day or week.Stay true to your course believe that this works and you are sooo much healthier for it!!

So no obvious reason for the symptoms then. How long will the Rx meds last? Like a week or ten days? Wheat is evil so good for her on giving it up! Right. The Dr said it could have been the virus she mentioned or it could have been that the reaction Katie was having made the Lupus marker high. Kinda worrisome cause wen I was researching symptoms Lupus just kept popping up. But her Dr is very good and didn't seem to freak out or anything. She said we could make a Rheumatoid appointment now or just recheck in 3 months. I asked what she would do if it were her kid. She said recheck in 3 months. She has a 7 day Rx for prednisone and a months supply of Allergy RX. We will see what happens when she goes back to work and when the RX is done. Hopefully it is viral and that will be the end of it.

My work put out a full spread for the lunch meeting, and the main course was lasagna. I ate grilled veggies, salad, and lasagna. Then I had a cupcake for dessert. I probably got kicked out of ketosis, but I'm not going to worry about it. I'll just have to be careful over the next few days.

Ok! one of the two bounces down!!!!! Working on the rest...... Have a good weekend! x Hooray chrispy!! Did the weather clear up around there? We had a cold front move in with rainy weather around here. I took the garbage out this morning and it was a bit chilly in my shorts without a shirt on. The low tonight is supposed to be 49F. Up north along the Canadian border they are getting hammered with snow lol. Early winter in Texas is the best part of the year I think
