I got a can of tuna for the first time in ages, and discovered they have shrunk from 6 to 5 oz but still cost about the same. Sneaky bastards! Saturday numbers: 1751 calories, 73 g protein, 152 g fat, 38 g carbs. Breakfast: flax pancake & peanut butter, coffee with coconut oil and half & half Lunch: apple and cheddar cheese, coffee with half & half Dinner: tuna with olive oil, vegenaise, and scallions I generally avoid commercial mayonnaise because they are made with chemically extracted soybean oil. Vegenaise makes a sandwich spread that is soy free and made with safflower oil. There's no eggs, so it doesn't taste exactly like mayo but it seems like a good alternative if you don't want to make your own.

Hi!! On vacation in Jersey! I ran a 5 mile race this morning in 51:08! My first race since I was 12 and the furthest I've ever run, EVER. So a PDR AND a PR for me in one day.. woo woo. I'm still bouncing back from that IT band injury so I didn't run super hard since my last longest distance was about 3 miles. Still happy with it. It was NOT fat-fueled, but I'm getting back to it.. One thing that is helping me.. at our doctors appt here on Wednesday, my mom was diagnosed as pre-diabetic..right on the cusp with fasting blood glucose at 110, and cholesterol right at 200. Forget the other numbers. Anyway, our doctor told her to go low-carb! Woo hoo! So I have been coaching her with that the past few days, showing her how to weigh foods, counting carbs, etc. She isn't doing keto, just generic low-carb, keeping carbs under 20 net a day. Not exactly Atkins since she isn't planning on reintroducing safe carbs or anything. We will focus on macros later... We made her a Fit Day account today and she is excited! My bloodwork results come back on Monday and I have an appointment at 10:40 to go over them.. he ordered a ton of tests.. man I love my GP here.. he has been our family doctor forever and he is more-or-less my brother's mentor in life.. my brother became a DO as well and they practiced together for awhile. Great guy, very fit, eats low carb. So we will see Monday! No idea what my weight is now, but on Wednesday at the appointment it was 129.4.. so thats cool. Icing, icing, icing. Those bruises on my leg are from a run in with a bedpost. My bloodwork is checking for anemia as well, LOL! Excited to focus on keto and running fat-adapted now that I don't have any huge distance hurdles/races to face. Hope yall are well! lol whacking your thigh on a bed post is a special kind of pain right?!? I've done that before. Congrats on the run and PDR/PR Did you take your last test results with you? Maybe you could go over them with him too.

Maybe you could go over them with him too. Yeah I did! He rolled his eyes at them and said the relative ranges were so wide between them, anything was diagnosable/undiagnosable. He agreed that my T3 was too low and said he'd probably prescribe me some T3 regardless of what these new test results are.

I am still iffy on my depth of knowledge about thyroid particulars.

DIdn't weigh today but was on plan yesterday.
I'm having another card party today--nothing else to do, so I told my friends to come on over lol. I had to dig deep to find food to serve. One friend is bringing a veg tray and another is bringing chips. I'm either boiling or grilling some brats and some chicken apple sausages which I'll cut into chunks, and I had some burgers and buns in the freezer in case we want a meal instead of just snacks.
I pulled a venison tenderloin out of the freezer for a late dinner with a can of green beans. I need to eat soon. Might gnaw on my leftover pork chop.

My butt is still a little sore from the bodyweight squats I did the way Drew Baye demonstrated in that other video.

Weigh-in this morning ... 184.0 for a one point three pound drop. I know yesterday's big bounce was water weight which makes this point three down from the day before yesterday And no weird scale fluctuations this morning so maybe yesterday was just a fluke.

I'm surprised at my WI, I ate a 3 serving size bag of Texas Pete pork rinds with sour cream last night at 10:30. My calories were low and I wasn't gonna eat any more but then I got so hungry. Then I just started eating and I thought wow my calories are gonna be very high. I felt like I ate a ton. When I logged my food though the calories ended up about right. My protein was high from the pork rinds but I guess my body just needed more calories.

We play hand and foot, which is a version of canasta. Teams of 2, and you can have 2,3,or 4 teams per table. 8 decks of cards.
You make melds of cards (all 4's, or all Kings, for example). Once you get 7 cards, you close the meld and it's worth 500 points, or 300 points if you use a wild card in it (2's and jokers are wild). You play your hand and then after you play all of its cards, you pick up your foot (another hand) and play that one too.
If you get caught with a red 3 in your hand or foot that you didn't get to discard, it is minus 500 points for your team. IT's really fun and unpredictable. My partner and I were smirking at each other across the table because we knew we were gonna crush our opponents on his next turn. Then my husband played right before him, played his hand and played all through his foot, completing the requirements to go out (2 pure melds and 3 'dirty' melds with wildcards) and he ended up setting us and winning the game. Really fun.

We play hand and foot, which is a version of canasta. Canasta. Man I haven't heard that word in years and years. When I was a kid my parents would get together with other couples every now and then and play canasta and have a great time. They taught us how to play it when we were old enough.

I know! Very retro. We were laughing about it.... back in our single days we wouldn't think about going to the bars before 10 pm. Now we're home and getting ready for bed by then. And playing canasta is just one more step down the road to old fogeyville lol. But, we have some teens and 20-somethings who like to play with us, so it's not all that bad. (and I can still rock it well past my usual bedtime if the party is rolling lol)

My parents used to play bridge, mostly as a way to socialize. I still think of bridge and martinis as old people stuff. phanney, your card game sounds like fun!

I'm feeling exceptionally overfed today. <LOL> I think I'm stressing too much about numbers. While trying to keep my carbs low and my protein high, I worry that my fat is going out of control. I am probably making it harder than it needs to be. it's either obsess about this or put myself into a chocolate induced coma.;-) CALS: 2357 FAT : 215.18 82% PROT: 78.25 12% CARB: 36.19 6%
B: COFFEE, CO L: CHICKEN SALAD, SAMI LOW CARB 7 GRAIN BREAD D: ATKINS CHILI, HOT DOGS, CHEESE

I know what you're talking about stressing over the numbers. I drive Darin crazy at times. Well, probably most of the time. I too wonder if my fats are too high, but if you do the necessary protein and low carbs, we have to make up the calories with the fats. Have become quite fond of HWC and CO. They're instant zappers for fat.
