Happy new month and a big thank you to everybody for sharing and letting me into your journey. Have learned so much over the past month or so. My new goal is to eat more/ Being very aware of protein and sodium intake. So much to learn and take in. I don't weight in.. becomes a contest between me and the scale am content with letting my clothes talk. Thanks again peoples! If you'd have gotten here sooner you could have enjoyed my poetry Ode To A Cat.

Happy Friday Eve everyone!! I've been a little busy this week, so have been doing my usual lurking in the shadows. Just so you know....I read, I cheer, and I keep everyone in good thoughts and prayers. I just seems to have a hard time actually typing things out for you all to read. <LOL> Way too many years living alone with just me and the tv I guess <LOL> But just wanted to know...I do think of you sneak in every now and again to see how you all are doing! Although the week has been crazy, dad sick, dad almost well, dad sick again...now released from the hospital and safely tucked away in a rehab facility. Just waiting to see how that goes. Im hoping the stress < and rainy weather> will slow down just enough for me to get some work done around the house this weekend. Kepp your fingers crossed. Weigh in isn't till Monday, but I just don't know...nothing seems to be working right this week, so all I can do is wait and see. Wish me luck!! *HUGZSES* where wanted!! Vicki I'm glad to hear your father is doing better Vicki What part of the country are you in? thank you all for the good wishes. My brothers and I don't always like my dad or get along with him.....but I am glad he's getting better. Darrin....Im on the west side of the east coast also commonly known as Florida . Although June-Sept is the rainy season here, we seem to have gotten twice as much this year as we have in the past. Which makes me rather nervous about later in the hurricane season. Keeping my fingers crossed for a rather dull and boring season. Classic...we use the term at work, to signify the week is almost over...(kind of like Christmas Eve, or NY Eve) Off to work!!! Buh-BYE!!

WI 177.4 Yesterday's food log: roughly 1170 calories 104 fat 48 prot 19 carbs Carbs got high due to logging of pickle juice...do you count that stuff as having carbs? MFP did for the entry I used so not sure what that's about...made the mistake of not measuring the pickle juice so estimated like 8 tbsp I think...it was in a little styrofoam cup so was eyeballing I think a half cup...IDK lol but since I saw a decent loss I'm not going to worry about it, bottom like the sodium can't hurt lol, sometimes still hard to grasp that! Undoing a lot of years hearing wrong info. 77.74086379 % 15.94684385 % 6.312292359 % Had 2 meals, breakfast and lunch then fasted and about to break my fast 6a. I wonder if I should just stick to that low of calories. I had a crappy day so didn't feel like eating but if there had been food I prob would have LOL but just didn't feel like driving to get any or cooking so I just didn't eat and even this morning I'm like eh. I am going to up my prot today tho, I think under 50 isn't my best idea for daily food intake, don't want to lose what little muscle is hiding under the fat! if that's what happens, idk lol. Happy Friday yay for the weekend!

Happy Friday yay for the weekend! 19 carbs isn't high at all. I have played around with mine since being in NK and I can have up to 50 with no problems. NK is basically keeping protein at your level, keep carbs under 50 a day and eat the rest of your calories in fat. You could play with your carbs a little and see how you do. Adding 20 or 30 carbs aday might not hurt you at all and could add some to your food choices and volume. I don't add carbs for pickle juice, just pickles.

WTG losers. Vicky, I hope your father continues to improve. Hang in there.
No loss today, but that's good because there was no gain while I consciously upped my carbs and calories.
Yesterday: chicken salad (just chicken and mayo) burger patty w/1 carb ketchup, split pea soup made from smoked turkey, green beans, and cauliflower. Really good. chicken stir fry--full of veggies and really good. I went wild and used 2 tsp corn starch for the whole pan. I ate 1/4 of the pan, so that was 1.2 carbs from the corn starch.
It was weird to not eat a salad, but I really enjoyed all of my food.
Today is open-faced grilled egg and cheese sandwich on almond butter bread the split pea soup with 2 small farm-made sausages huge thick pork chop sauteed in butter and oil with a salad in a jar experiment and some garden tomatoes. I won't eat all of the chop, but it will be fun to have a Fred Flintstone portion on my plate lol. going out to play cards this evening, so supper will be early. I will have some brie w/cucumbers and celery if I want something after the card party.

We got there at night and had to spend the night in a (comped) hotel before the airline fixed whatever the problem was. It was like hitting a brick wall of humidity when we strolled out of the nice very cool air conditioned airport heh. Whew!!! Korea is hot like that since it is a peninsula too.

Hooray!!! Carbs got high due to logging of pickle juice...do you count that stuff as having carbs? No don't count it unless it is sweetened. If you are doing picklebacks you have to count the whiskey If you want to log it for tracking sodium or just to correlate consumption with leg cramp relief or something then make a custom food that is zero carb. I wonder if I should just stick to that low of calories. You know my thinking on very low calories but if you can keep your protein in the right range it probably wouldn't hurt to do a little self-experiment for a while.

I don't count pickle juice.........am I supposed to???? my true goal in counting it was to get an idea of where my sodium intake falls; but then finding the entry with carbs was annoying to me (i think it's all user driven entries) so someone counts it as a carb but I dont want to lol! It had 0 cals so yeah, seems like it would also have 0 carbs...other than the few seeds that are in it, it's just like pickly salt water so I was surprised to see that on my MFP entry.

I stepped on the scale before hopping into the shower this morning - didn't go the bathroom, just felt the need to re-weigh and was 176.6! I hope stays that low or LOWER for tomorrow!! ended up cooking a t-bone this morning and bacon but didnt make time to cook/eat eggs so brought all the food into work w/ me. had to go to a meeting so just now breaking my fast at 10a with 2.5oz HWC/coffee/SF vanilla syrup and 2.6 oz of BACON mmmm life is delicous when you can eat a bowl of bacon with a super creamy cup of hot coffee mmmmmmmmmmm I want every day to be this way with food lol. Will have rest of bacon and t-bone later today woo hoo! normally would never buy tbones but it's part of the meat my mom doesn't like that she got from a butcher and is giving to me; i see nothing wrong w/ the meat so i will gladly take it!!

Weird, I went and looked up distilled vinegar in the usda nutrient database. A cup is 43 calories, but the nutrients are listed as 0 fat, 0 pro, and 1 tenth of a carb. What's up with that? Cider vinegar is listed as 50 cal, 2.22 carbs, and 0 everything else

Advice, please.
I'm trying to up my calories some. Tweaking protein just a smidge, up to 1.5 per kg instead of 1.2 or 1.3. I have been at about 1300 cal. My plan for today shows 116 fat 17.5 carb/12 net 85 pro 1461 cal
Is that enough of a tweak to matter? I was thinking of aiming for 1600, but I"d have to push to get it, I think.
I'm 5'3" and a half. 160 lbs now, goal of about 130. so that's 59 kg goal wt, and 1.5 for the protein would be 88.

That is a small enough step up in calories that the macro nutrients behind the calories shouldn't be too big of a player in any results. So from 1300 calories consistently to 1400-1500 looks good to me phanney.

I stepped on the scale before hopping into the shower this morning - didn't go the bathroom, just felt the need to re-weigh and was 176.6! My experience has been that as long as I am not consuming something weighty, like lots of coffee and water, I will weigh less as time ticks by in the mornings. If you typically weigh-in at 5am but sleep in on Saturday and weigh-in at 9am it will probably be a super duper weigh-in but Sunday when you weigh-in again at 5am you'll see a 'bounce' because you are weighing in earlier than the day before.

I suppose the reason I'm not that hungry is because I'm burning fat. I just like doing little experiments, though, so I'll try to do c 1450 cal for awhile with similar macros to today. THen I intend to do a couple morning plasma ketone and glucose readings. Maybe Mon/Tue.
