So I'm headed to a town on this business trip with only one restaurant in town - BBQ. I've heard they will serve meat with no sauce, so that takes care of lunch and dinner. "...lunch, dinner and breakfast" Fixed it for ya.

That's surprising... I heard it was terrible and was liable to believe it because I mistakenly bought a couple of their salad dressings before and it was I actually really like Guy's BBQ sauce though, and it's only got 1 carb per 2T. I've been adding it to everything, LOL! The only bummer is you can't find it locally over here, so I have to order it online. Maybe I'll try the Walden Farms stuff if I get brave enough just so I could have a back up plan that's available over here

I didn't mean it in reference to CCK... I meant it in reference to how others oftentimes treat their peers in general which is what that GOMI page reminded me of. Because eventually it stemmed away from Katie, into "I think ALL bloggers who severely restrict what they eat (no flour, no sugar, etc) are eating disordered," Ah. I see. I get annoyed at people like that but you can't save the world Really Melanie. There is your mistake. You are not their peers and they are not your peers. Sure, we are all humans but for me to consider you to be a peer the first test is you can't be a blubbering idiot. Clearly you consider them to be in that group so problem solved lol. I mean I may listen to what someone has to say with an open mind but when they go over the edge I channel George Carlin - NSFW so spoiler tag... Yes but ... George Carlin. heh Stuff like that makes me weep for the human race. The worst of it is usually from someone who thinks they know what's best for you. Or who thinks they know how to live your life better than you do. /bonk the_world When something comes up like that I cannot take it seriously and I know the person that is bringing it up is not a serious thinker. It reminds me of a thread over yonder in the Lobby. I can't remember what the topic was but someone posted that their MIL(?) told them that their friend Betty tried LC and her tooth fell out

Not playing for me. And the Mil comment about friend Betty's teeth falling out was me. That was so funny, MIL says Oh LC is bad. I know a lady that tried it and she got bad breath and her teeth got loose. To which DH replied, Well I know a lady that wasn't on LC and she had bad breath and a big ole BUTT!

I went from LC high protein, moderate fat to being vegan for 5 weeks. Stuck to it like glue but did have honey at one point on accident lol...oops. It was fun eating all the veggies, beans and fruit. I love fruit...yeah I gained weight because I was hungry and eating sugar/carbs to try and get full...didn't work out too well for me. The bacon post-vegan was like explosions of delight in my mouth...lol I knew I couldn't sustain that WOE for very long, was impressed did it for 5 weeks. It was from reading some book...what was it...can't even remember now. One of them was about a firefighter who was vegan. Anyway, yeah...it wasn't my best choice for trying to lose fat/weight. The firefighter was probably Rip Esseltyn, who wrote the Engine2 diet. He is the son of Caldwell Esseltyn, a doctor at the Cleveland Clinic who advocates a very low fat vegan diet for his heart patients (and everyone else). I remember when I first tasted an egg after being vegan for a few years, it was the most amazing egg ever. That got me to realize how I'd fooled myself into believing that things like faux meat products tasted good. It's no wonder I ate so much junk food back then, the food I was eating just wasn't satisfying.

I made the best lunch today. I had chicken salad but no fresh lettuce or greens to eat with it, so I improvised and made gluten free flatbreads. They aren't super low carb, but if you can tolerate a higher carb count they would be fine to use with meat, egg salad, or a burger.
I stirred together 1/4 cup each of chickpea flour and almond flour, 1/2 tbsp oat fiber, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 tsp salt, and a pinch of baking powder. This was for 2 flatbreads. I let the batter sit for about 15 minutes, because that's what all the recipes I've seen for chickpea pancakes say to do. I spread out half the batter in a lightly oiled skillet and cooked it on medium heat until the bottom was lightly browned and the top was nearly dry, then flipped it over and cooked the other side. Then I repeated the same steps for the other half of the batter. I calculated the nutritional info for one flatbread as 73 calories, 4 g protein, 2 g fat, 10 g carbs, and 2 g fiber.

That sounds good Lisa. I have been making flax bread kind of like that. I bet letting it rest for a while would help them turn out better too.

Eating a limited diet these last few days has made me appreciate how good heavy cream, coconut oil, and eggs are as fat sources. Even with plenty of mayo in my chicken salad, I've eaten less than 60 g of fat today. I'm having trouble getting calories above 1,000 without my usual bullet proof coffee.

Most of the recipes I've tried with flax meal as the main ingredient did not turn out very well. I was also disappointed with the almond flour pancakes and buns I've made - they were kind of gritty and dry. A little bit of flax might work in the flatbread batter with the other ingredients though.

I never get mine to turn out the same. One day they are good the next day not so much. It is my fault though cause I just cook like that. I should work out a recipe and stick to it. I have added flax and it seems to be helping my thyroid issue. Not my favorite though.

I have flax and have used it sparingly (since I don't deduct the fiber from my carb count) but never on a regular basis. I wonder if there's something to it. I thought it just made people regular

Really Melanie. There is your mistake. You are not their peers and they are not your peers. Sure, we are all humans but for me to consider you to be a peer the first test is you can't be a blubbering idiot. Clearly you consider them to be in that group so problem solved lol. LOL well I suppose that is my mistake then, because yeah... blubbering idiot sounds about right I think that's been something I've struggled with my whole life though, caring way too much about what other people think of me and my decisions instead of enjoying who I am and being proud of the decisions I make. I've been trying to develop that sense of self confidence and have come a long way in the past year or two for sure, but it's definitely not something that gets cured overnight. That's a good way of looking at it though. At the very least I know I'm not a blubbering idiot. So I suppose a blubbering idiot isn't really a peer at all Yeah, that's pretty much the issue right there... that's really what I meant by the whole wishing people would worry more about themselves and stop commenting so much on what others are doing thing. People supposedly knowing what's best for you, when they honestly have no idea and deciding to share their "wisdom" with you. Drives me nuts

When on sales trips ive discovered a great way to get fat is high fat cheese. Last week i found a grocery store with little mini wheels of brie in single servings. Extremely high fat and convenient! Check grocery stores for stuff like that imo

I was thinking E2D but couldn't remember what that stood for LoL...Remembered the other book since was reading them pretty much together - it was Eat to Live...ha. My boyfriend was supportive during those 5 weeks but I could tell he wasn't impressed with me stuffing my face with a big bowl of green grapes at like 10 at night...He's like I don't get how you can eat all that sugar so late at night...I'm like it's PART OF THE PLAN!!! LoL...I was pretty grumpy during that time

Had a pretty intense day! Stayed 100% on track with food and fitness! I'd committed many many months ago to doing P90x plyometrics weekly with my guy. Well, Monday afternoon he ran to the store so I proceeded to stuff my face with cream cheese and made myself sick so couldn't make it through Plyo Monday night. So, I had the week to complete it which meant by midnight tonight and WOO HOO - even though I put it off almost all day I finally knocked it out at 4p - that's after attending 2 hours of Jazzercise this morning at 8 & 9. I try to do lots of low impact moves and try to make sure I can always talk - so that my HR isn't up super high straight through - I try to add my own HIIT. Anyway, it felt wonderful and actually Plyo killed me as usual BUT it wasn't KILLER so that's what rocked about it - plus just sticking to my word made it feel good. It never hurts when my guy says "I'm proud of you for getting it done" I'm a sucker for praise, that's for sure. So my food log for today (since I am DONE eating for the day) fat 211 protein 92 carbs 25 So about 2400 calories total... 80.22813688 % 15.54710604 % 4.224757076 % WOO HOO, love seeing those #s! I feel super full...like I forgot to log food eaten but know I tracked every bite and weighed all my food. I highly expected to eat at least 3000 calories since I had 3 hours of fitness...just figured the cardio would make me hungry but that wasn't the case today. I'm not too worried as I think I will feel pretty hungry tomorrow and will have a green light to eat lots of eggs/meat and CO. I'm planning to attend 545 Jazz tomorrow and then tomorrow eve is plyo Monday...ugg I will def need a rest day Tues! I'm feeling super proud of the fact that I truly have not stepped on the scale - day 2 almost done! I will break the scale habit...I hope when I WI 7/1 that I see awesome results or even better I hope to fit into my jeans comfy again...being able to breath in denim is a nice feeling.

I think maybe I didn't explain myself very well earlier. I'm eating less fat because I ran out of things like coconut oil and cream and can't buy any more right now. I'll restock my pantry when I get paid later this week. I had another chicken salad flatbread for dinner, and that brought my calories up. Today was kind of carb-y but at least I got some fiber in. Today's numbers: 1360 calories, 82 g fat, 58 g carbs, 100 g protein.
