TGIF! It is beautiful here this morning. The sun is shining. Weather is an Autumn perfect 41F deg but will get up to 60. Perfect sweater weather.
Thursday’s numbers Cals 1149 Fat 68.79 Carbs 46.94 Prot 83.12 WI 278.0 -1.0#
Ended up having a late meeting and missed out on DH’s salmon dinner but I went to the store and was able to stock up on LC foods for dinner and snacking. Ended up working out ok. I did feel very munchy during the late evening but knew I wasn’t actually hungry so I used the pickle juice trick! Works every time! Unfortunately there is no food entry in FS for it.
DH going out of town for the night so kids and I will snuggle down and watch Maleficent while the kids snack on popcorn (not a favorite of mine) and I plan on making parmesan crackers for my spinach dip. Yay.
Hope you have a great Friday and weekend!

So, what could I do with cauliflower powder? Do you think I could use it as one would use instant mashed potatoes? Just add butter and cream and voila? I wanted to make my beef stroganoff tonight but baulked at the amount of time it takes to steam and mash/blend the cauliflower for just myself AND make regular mashed potatoes for the rest of the family. So much faster to get take out pizza. I know whole foods are the best but I have a convenience food attention span.

Opinions?
oh oh oh, Think we could make pasta out of it? Just substitute it for all flour. I don't have a pasta machine but I could see if I could borrow one for a special experiment then if it works out it could be a perfect Christmas gift. One could spend a Sunday afternoon making several batches then dry or freeze them for future use?
Thoughts?
Completely different topic: I bought a can of sauerkraut to have with some brats I have. Does canned have ANY gut benefit?

These Paleo recipes look interesting Kathy: empoweredsustenance.com/uses-for-cauliflower/And I saw a blog post from 2011 about Kraft making mac and cheese using noodles made from cauliflower powder so noodles are possible: www.foodiemoment.com/tag/cauliflower-powder/The canned kraut can't have live biotics or the can would explode from the byproduct gas having no where to go I think.

I was messing around online last night looking for weight-lifting information and motivation, and found this: stronglifts.comIn the second video on this page, he argues that the standard advice for doing squats (don't go lower than the point where your thighs are parallel to the floor) is dead wrong, and that you absolutely must go down to the point where your hips are lower than your knees. I'm going to try it today (just with bodyweight until I get the hang of it) and see how it feels. He makes a good argument, so we'll see. stronglifts.com/squat/#Squat_Form_101Did you try this yet Greta? I did yesterday just bodyweight and only a set of 10 done slowly without locking the legs out on the up portion. Wow. My legs are sore on both sides and my butt is too. He is right about breaking parallel engaging the glutes and hamstrings.

He is right about breaking parallel engaging the glutes and hamstrings. Yes, but I have to admit that I didn't do very many. I could tell that it was working the muscles more (and/or in different ways) than usual, so I took it pretty easy. But I definitely think he's on to something!

I've been wanting something better than calf raises for glutes and those past parallel squats definitely hit the glutes.

Good morning all and welcome to Monday. I am ready for a good and successful week at whatever I choose to be successful at and one of those things is eating in an NK way every day. Glad to have this group to hang out with.

Happy (belated) Birthday Pam & Cheryl! Hope you had a great weekend!
Everything was good around here. Maleficent was good Friday and DH, DS and I went out to see Big Hero 6. (DD was at a sleep over). It was good. Better than I thought. Actually had a plot and emotion and was laugh out loud funny in some spots. Otherwise we focused on taking down Halloween decorations and tried to tame Mt. Laundry. It takes us 6 weeks to put up all the decorations but we only have 3 weeks to take it down before Thanksgiving. I must say my walls look barren. It takes a while to get use to. We all have Tuesday off for Veteran's Day so we are going to take down the front of house façade. If these pics post-they are of the front of the house. The character on top is Fred, he stirs the cauldron, and the two skulls on each side of the arch talk to each other and the trick or treaters (recording) but the skull right by the front door talks from a cordless mic in the house. We have a peak hole so DH sees what the kid is wearing and comments on it.
I must admit food wasn't great. I'm looking forward to clean eating today/week. Drinking my yummy BP coffee and enjoying the sunshine. Rumor has it that there will be snow Thursday. We'll see.
Happy Monday.
