OMG! This morning I discovered a wart on my left ankle right on the ankle bone. Although I was mortified in a Hitchcockian shower scene sort of way for an unguyly amount of time, I know how to get rid of it *and* this has always been a sign, over the last couple of years of LC, that I've shed some long held fat cell debris. The cure is organic Apple Cider Vinegar. I just apply it at full strength with a q-tip a couple of times a day and it usually does the job after three or four days. Ugh. unguyly amount of time Awesome ACV does the trick!

Haven't been able to log food all that well but def eating LC and staying pretty much on track. My best friend returned to work today from having her baby boy and she said she thinks I look smaller, even though I am pretty sure my WI would be up a smidge or two...I'm thinking I will do the Biggest Loser competition at work this year and seriosly just buckle down and use as motivation to hopefully get me closer to my goal weight, 2014 is my year man! I've started off pretty good so far, working out more consistently and avoiding emotional eating binges the best I can. My mom back in hospital with a UTI but starting to feel a bit better today so that's good. We had some medical drama that I think has gotten resolved so that's good. My SO seems a little miffed at me but nothing major, just needs more attention from me, which is hard when my mom needs it and my son needs and heck, I need my own attention! lol...such is life today so far had 4 oz of HWC in 2 cups of coffee, both with SF Vanilla syrup, some salami and cheese, didn't weigh it out but nothing huge. need to get me some WATER, still stink at drinking water...such a hard thing for me to do! Anyway, today will be good and hope everyone else has a GREAT day!!

DAY 88 Log for 8 Jan
WI: 196.2 (dropped .55) Calories: 1,208
FAT: 112g PROTEIN: 43g CARBS: 8g
BREAKFAST: BPC (coconut oil & butter) LUNCH: Omelet with mushrooms and strips of bacon DINNER: BPC (coconut oil & butter), chicken, cauliflower w/butter
Morning Fasting BK – .9 2hrs After Last Meal – 1.9
I lowered my protein goal from 65g to 50g or less. I find that my protein seems to affect my BK as much as my carbs.
Blood glucose has again been high both morning and evenings but since giving up the dairy, the numbers are coming down. I’m finishing my 2nd day of my version of no dairy. Grassfed butter has never had a negative impact in the past, tho I hadn’t eaten as much as I do now, so I’m continuing to eat butter.
My nose has been greatly relieved today, i.e., barely itched and no running. I’m not seeing as much inflammation on my face either which the past month or so it was getting pretty bad. My foot hasn’t itched quite as much today but it’s still inflamed and red. Right now my ears are nearly silent…..which is VERY unusual for me. Perhaps I’ve found the cause of my hearing fluctuations. Time will tell. The BK numbers are much better today as well. I read where dairy calcium can cause some fat not to be absorbed. Since I already have issues with fat because I don't have a gallbladder, I wonder if the dairy caused me less fat absorption? We'll see how the numbers roll as I continue my excluding the dairy.

need to get me some WATER, still stink at drinking water...such a hard thing for me to do! How about a sparkling or mineral water with just a pinch of sea salt and a splash of lemon juice? I read somewhere years ago (think it was WAPF) that that's more hydrating than pure water anyway. And it certainly seems more refreshing, but perhaps that's just my perception. Herbal teas, also a good way to get hydrated. Even black tea and coffee are hydrating (contrary to popular perception, the slight diuretic effect of the caffeine does not outweigh the water content of the beverage). And broth is very good for you. I'm not a believer in the 8 glasses of water a day mantra at all, though I certainly advocate avoiding soda pop. Drink when you're thirsty. Beyond that, no worries.

Good Thursday all. Measured BKs at 3:30 this morning because I was, well, up. .8 Not unhappy with that at all. Ate my version of "poorly" but all my food. One day my sleeping habits will be more regular but not at the moment. It's all good.

That sounds pretty good, but yeah, it isn't just water, it's drinking period - I am not a big "drinker", very very slow at it and just in general not thirsty so yeah, I was hoping keto would help my thirst and help me drink more water, especially on high sodium days but even then, it's like I'm not just that thirsty, ever...I think my main worry has been seeing it all over the place, drink water, lose weight, blah blah and I'm like, maybe that's one thing I can try to improve on...but struggle daily! So yeah, I'm not going to be too hard on myself, I do usually have at least 2 12 oz cups of coffee/day so that's something

Weigh-in this morning... 173.4 for a point one bump which is a bit surprising. I am still smoking. I still fear quitting and gaining a bunch of weight. I did that back in October of 2012 at 187, went off plan (intentionally) and gained back to 216 before I threw in the towel in January of 2013 and started smoking again to get control of myself. If you count that twice lost thirty pounds I have actually lost ~122 pounds with LC/NK lol. But I really struggled for a few weeks to get back on track with NK. That is why I fear trying to quit again. So yesterday I decided I'd try to earn each smoke by doing a chin up or two before I could have an L7. I thought I'd probably see some inflammation and water retention from doing that. My abs are sore for sure and my chest and arms are a little sore. Today I will probably vary the exercise payment a bit.

I know you are ready to be back to the 150 or less WI but you're doing great and I hope you are feeling ok! I am too scared to WI so skipped the scale this morning...no workout yesterday and over-ate at the end of the day on prot bars, ew - stayed up too late...got hungry - bad combo! I feel like when the competition starts I am going to seriously buckle down, in the meantime I'm still working to stay on track. so far today, HWC in coffee with SF vanilla stuffs in it - I'm on my 2nd cup now, both cups had 2 oz HWC so I'm on my way to a FF today lol...no food here at work and the roads are terrible from the snow we got over night, I am surprised they didn't cancel school today (they did Mon and Tues...) but glad to be at work, staying VERY busy Hope everyone is enjoying their day and keto strong!

But take that with a grain of salt because I do tend to be kind of contrarian on this and a few other issues. The experts say: eat lots of grains, drink lots of fluids, eat lots of fiber, avoid saturated fat, avoid meat and eat a plant-based diet. I pretty much do the opposite.

Yesterday was an up day for my alternate day fasting. I didn't bother to track what I ate but it was a lot of food! I wasn't hungry at all today, just drank water and black coffee while at work. I'm drinking broth with butter and hwc for a liquid dinner.

I got some stew meat on sale yesterday and was going make chili, but decided to go with a beef ragu. I used the meat, half an onion, a few cloves garlic, italian spice blend, and fire roasted crushed tomatoes. I made it in my pressure cooker and the meat turned out fork tender. It took less than 30 minutes to brown the meat, pressure cook the stew, and 15 minutes of resting time to naturally release the pressure. This would have taken several hours in the oven or all day in the slow cooker.

I am sleeping at my own house tonight and tomorrow night which means this night-eating madness will not be happening. Still eating only my food but wow. Scale back up, BK meter didn't work for me this morning and I don't have the strips here at Mom's to retest. Not complaining here friends. Merely reporting. A friend gave me a gift certificate for a 90-minute massage as a thank-you gift. I am having that this afternoon. Yea!

Thursday’s numbers:
Cals 2132 (WooHoo!) Fat: 175.61 (WhoHoo!) Carbs: 53.3 (D’oh!) Prot 91.91 (WooHoo!)
B- Coffee w/ HWC & CO L-ham and cheese omelet D- Salmon, grilled veggies, cole slaw S-Macadamia nuts
So most of my numbers were awesome for me! I can’t believe I ate over 2000 calories. Wish I had researched the carbs in cole slaw BEFOREHAND. But oh well. It was good and better than clam chowder. Was tempted to late night snack out of boredom but resisted. Which is good.
Happy Friday!

Hi all, started TOM, blah. Did WI this morning and 183, so not too traumatized by the worthless scale So far today - one coffee this morning with 5 oz HH and one coffee this afternoon with 1.2 oz HWC and 4 oz HH; both with the SF Vanilla syrup. Good stuffs. Not too hungry right now and no food yet again with me at work other than my coffee stuffs. Tonight is date night with my honey so we will eat out and prob going to do eggs/bacon and coffee. My mom is doing terrible so that's stressing me out, so many issues and so much drama and then the guilt for when I don't spend time at the hospital...not fun, but such is life don't want to let this impact my goals for living a healthier/fitter life. Hope you all have a FAB weekend!!!
