Weigh-in this morning... a mind boggling 181.4 for a three point four bounce. I'm not shocked though, after having ~4500 calories and almost 250g of protein lol. I cooked up a package of Wrights bacon ends and pieces and flat pigged out on bacon most of the day.

I cannot cook up extra bacon. I will flat out eat it till it is gone every time. I get this particular package for the bacon grease rather than the bacon because it has a whole lot of fat. The edible bacon is just a bonus. Usually I have no problem stretching out the cooked stuff for several days but, I think, my 1900 calorie day was a bit too low for me so I was an eating machine yesterday. I had some of it with some store bought jalapeno mustard. OMG! That was tasty heh.

I'm learning that my body cannot handle much fiber, even when I avoid grains completely. I've been adding coconut & almond flours to my flax wraps, and now my gut is unhappy with me. I plan to continue using small amounts of flax, but won't be buying more coconut or almond flour.
I'm drinking broth and peppermint tea to sooth my stomach (not at the same time!) and haven't eaten much today.

Good morning my lovelies! Sorry I haven't been here ..... have been doing 'house stuff' before it gets too cold and wet. I've had a beautiful French Door installed .....so now I can sit and look out into the garden and watch the birds and seasonal changes! But getting rid of the dust has been a real pain!!!!!! Haven't weighed myself over the weekend .......thought I might get a nice surprise this morning.....HA! The universe had other plans!!!!!!! NO CHANGE....again . Measured myself to see if something WAS changing and..... another 10.5 inches down. It's amazing how an inch here or there adds up....... Have dug out some tops that were Waaaaay too tight and they now fit really well, I have a bunch of "new" clothes to try on so now I don't mind so much that WI hasn't changed! Have a great day all of you! x

Weigh in today is 148. Your post-workout bump. I wonder why my post-workout bump is usually delayed by two to three days. Perhaps it is a difference in the relative inflammatory response. That is, I think you are very sensitive to inflammatory stimulus and I am far less so. But is it a male/female, and therefore related to hormonal balance to which females are far more sensitive, issue or is it related to your existing metabolic challenge with the thyroid condition or some combination of those things. Or, of course, it is simply a one-off thing since the sample size is two.

WI today at 184.0 - had a VERY late dinner last night so kinda surprised how hungry I feel this morning...was going to have flax wrap this morning but nervous how hungry I am so going to stick with hamburger and eggs. Found some good deals on prot bars but hiding them right NOW so out of sight, out of mind, right!? Prob just give them to my guy anyway, I don't need the extra garbage packed in the bars, even if they are very low carb...meat and eggs baby. Doin great on no HWC. Had a little thing of it in fridge haunting me so used it all to make a fancy dessert for my guy which I didn't even lick the spoon like I usually do; I made the flavor that doesn't appeal the most to me so it really wasn't all that hard but still taking credit for it LoL. had a crazy weekend; busy/LOUD and emotional so was glad to see a loss on the scale afterwards. no work out yesterday and staying home today with the goal of not eating all day and liftin some weights while watchin tv have a great Mon everyone!

Weigh-in this morning ... 179.6 for a one point eight drop but still well above my old new low. Thinking about it, there is a clear correlation between my beginning a HIT regimen and my tendency to not just miss my calorie goal but obliterate it with extreme prejudice in an almost scorched earth fashion. Is it causative though? It seems unlikely since both Baye and McGuff are clear that a calorie deficit can be maintained while engaged in a HIT program and you can lose BF while gaining LBM even in the presence of a moderate deficit. It could be a transient issue that will clear up after the induction period, for lack of a better term, which is about 12 weeks apparently. That would mean sometime in the next six weeks I'd be back in control of things calorie-wise assuming there is some relation between my actions and HIT.

I have noticed the day I do my HIT workout I am not as hungry but a day or so after I am starving.

Talked to my sister the other day and she had not lost weight said she was a bit disappointed until she measured herself and had lost 14" she was flying high! Yesterday was my sit out and watch the season change day. We had a fire in the back yard with the apple wood from last winter's downed trees..the smell was incredible. Friends brought food and I was not tempted one bit stayed true to the course. Congrats again..persevere

victlady, that fire sounds so nice. How wonderful. Good for your friend. It is amazing how you can shrink and not lose lbs while eating this way. Bound to be that we are adding lean body mass.

I have noticed the day I do my HIT workout I am not as hungry but a day or so after I am starving. That's interesting. I too experience a distinct feeling of appetite suppression on HIT days. I'd say my calories a high because of the almonds more than anything. I don't think I'd get it as high if I weren't eating 150g for the 30g of protein.

Am I the only one here whose digestive issues improved on NK? Before starting on NK, I had self-diagnosed myself with IBS. I don't know if that was accurate, but I had many of the symptoms. Going low carb has helped tremendously, though my gut still does not tolerate insoluble fiber very well. Had to learn that the hard way! I don't eat many vegetables and when I do it's usually in the form of blended soup. I may have to start limiting dairy to heavy cream and Greek yogurt too. I love cheese, but have a feeling it isn't helping my gut/stomach issues. I found an interesting thread on Mark's Daily Apple about IBS and eating lower carb: www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread62278.htmlI also came across this study that was done a few years ago on Atkins diet and IBS. It was small and only for 6 weeks, but all participants showed improvement. www.cghjournal.org/article/S1542-3565(09)00198-0/abstract

When I started NK I noticed just about improved everything. (especially asthma attacks that had just started about a year before) Another thing I noticed... (Kind of embarrassing). My allergies would be so bad and the sneezing so bad I would have trouble with leaky bladder. That is totally gone. I didn't even realize it till the other day when I had that allergy attack. Dh mentioned that I used to get so upset about sneezing so hard. Light bulb hit me and I said hey, that is gone. Now how in the world did NK/LC fix that problem. Could be the 25 lbs I have lost I guess but I do remember another lady mentioning that at the other place.
