Cheryl, I had problems with leaky bladder before NK too. It isn't completely resolved but much better than it used to be. I know what you mean about the sneeze attacks! Allergy season has just started here, and my symptoms have been fairly mild so far. The real test will be when cedar pollen is in the air - I used to get so sick and miserable from it.

Am I the only one here whose digestive issues improved on NK? Before starting on NK, I had self-diagnosed myself with IBS. I don't know if that was accurate, but I had many of the symptoms. Going low carb has helped tremendously, though my gut still does not tolerate insoluble fiber very well. Had to learn that the hard way! I don't eat many vegetables and when I do it's usually in the form of blended soup. I may have to start limiting dairy to heavy cream and Greek yogurt too. I love cheese, but have a feeling it isn't helping my gut/stomach issues. I found an interesting thread on Mark's Daily Apple about IBS and eating lower carb: www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/thread62278.htmlI also came across this study that was done a few years ago on Atkins diet and IBS. It was small and only for 6 weeks, but all participants showed improvement. www.cghjournal.org/article/S1542-3565(09)00198-0/abstractNot so much digestive problems but quitting wheat cured my chronic heartburn and chronic headaches. I know it wasn't just LC since that time I went off plan back in October I was carbing it up with almonds and corn based carbs (chips mostly) and other non-wheat carbs and I stayed heartburn-free and no increase in headaches. It is a shame that great men like Dr. Atkins and Dr. Davis are so viciously attacked in the mainstream when they have helped so many people.

It was small and only for 6 weeks, but all participants showed improvement. www.cghjournal.org/article/S1542-3565(09)00198-0/abstractoh man, my stomach is like night and day now compared to how it was before I went low sugar then eventually low carb for more of an atkins plan then even lower carb for NK. my stomach aches and pains were kinda what kicked off my weightloss. I was always hurting...well, lets see - I would sit in my bed and eat giant bowls of sugary cereal with 2% milk - I would pretty much take care of a gallon of 2% each week - my son barely drank any milk so knew it was all me. I never drank milk alone so it would be with anything sweet you can think of and in very large qty and not a second thought about it. finally I couldn't take the stomach aches so decided i was lactose intolerant and would just have to give up milk - i'd tried once before to do atkins and remember when i was eating LC for one week and how amazing my stomach felt (the flu I had the first time I went atkins was worse than childbirth) so switched to lactose free milk but found it to be too pricey so switched to almond milk then eventually the unswt alm milk. I felt so much better after cutting the milk which ended up also reducing the amount of crap I was eating since most of the things required a big glass of milk. I would eat like 2 pckgs of poptarts, in bed (gross...) with a GIANT cup of milk, I mean so insane to visualize this now lol...I went to the doc and found I'd lost 40 lbs! I went from 263 down to 223 so that lit a fire under my rear and I started eating low sugar (plan was 15g sugar max/day and max of 120g carb) and the weight came off quickly - it was great. I'd gotten down to 163 and felt amazing but had some setbacks so now I'm struggling to get back to the 163 but when I eat right and stay on track I don't even feel my stomach. One of the biggest reasons I love eating LC is how great my body feels and to compare it to before - ugg, I never want to go back to that lifestyle! It's really not a good way to be! Cheryl, I had problems with leaky bladder before NK too. It isn't completely resolved but much better than it used to be. I know what you mean about the sneeze attacks! When I was a kid it was spring allergies that got me but now that I am older it is fall allergies that are the worst. I am gonna try to keep up allergy meds every day for a few weeks. My poor son has terrible allergies and the fall is awful for him - he stayed home from school yesterday with a sore throat, poor guy! His eyes get really red and itchy, it stinks! Looks like we both bounced up! My weigh in was 173 this morning.

Cheryl, I had problems with Improved digestion is one of the first things I noticed when I started LC. When I started NK I noticed just about improved everything. (especially asthma attacks that had just started about a year before) Another thing I noticed... (Kind of embarrassing). My allergies would be so bad and the sneezing so bad I would have trouble with leaky bladder. That is totally gone. I didn't even realize it till the other day when I had that allergy attack. Dh mentioned that I used to get so upset about sneezing so hard. Light bulb hit me and I said hey, that is gone. Now how in the world did NK/LC fix that problem. Could be the 25 lbs I have lost I guess but I do remember another lady mentioning that at the other place. Man, before I lost weight with LC, it seemed like I was getting up once an hour to go to the bathroom at night and I was super paranoid about not waking up in time if you know what I mean. I'd have dreams and I'd dream about having to go to the bathroom then I'd pop awake and jump out of bed to race to the bathroom. I still get up a lot during the night, more than I think I should have to and more than I had to before I turned 40 without a doubt but nothing like when I was so fat. It is funny because I traded the getting up frequently from being fat for getting up frequently from being LC lol. I wonder if fat to skinny or skinnier younger men have had a similar experience? Most of the fat or ex-fat guys that post on LC boards seem to be late 30s and older. I haven't had a bad cold since I started LC back in August of 2011 either. I've had a couple very mild colds but that is a dramatic change from before LC and wheat-free. I used to get at least one cold a year that would keep me home from work at least one day but I'd be sick as heck and miserable for at least five days with the entire thing lingering for about two weeks. Typically, I'd have that one really bad one, another one almost as bad and then a couple more that were not quite as bad. I think the change is mostly due to quitting wheat but the low inflammation state that LC brings about has to be a big part of the change too.

WI 184.0 so no change from yesterday. Kinda pigged out a bit but kept my "window of eating" small since I knew I consumed so many calories in a short period of time and seems like IF helps me not see a big gain after stuffing my face plus I'm not hungry. I find that if I can "stay strong" at night and stick to IF that I like to be able to have a pig out fest and eat and get full then just not eat again until time to break the fast but the problem is bad habits, staying up late and watching mindless tv, wander into the kitchen for a little I'm bored snack that turns into overeating late at night - not cool; last night I forced myself to lay down and just go to bed so I tossed and turned until prob 1a but that's better than sitting on the couch eating No workout yesterday and not sure yet about today...didn't bring food w/ me today, totally not prepared so stopped at Sonic and ordered 3 sides of bacon and 2 sides of eggs - it was only like $3.25! I don't think they rung it up right but I didn't argue. The bacon was like 2 pc's per side and the 2 eggs were kinda big. Not really sure how to count the food and hopefully nothing "funnY"/carby added to the eggs. I'm off to fill up my big 42oz cup of ice with water. Haven't had any HWC but really really really want some coffee today so think will suffer the 5 carbs give or take for some HH and just stick to like 2 packets of splenda and work on scaling it back each week until it's like one packet splenda and splash of HH and like just one coffee/day....i haven't been able to deal w/ the black coffee so just cut it all out but yeah, I know it won't last lol...but still cutting the HWC cuz i over do it EVERY time so have to get that terrible habit under control ok, have a great Mon all! I have 2 cans of tuna and mayo at work so will do that for lunch, yay!

I would eat like 2 pckgs of poptarts, in bed *That* is a huge change for me too Robin! Before LC, I used to *always* eat something in bed before going to sleep. I'd eat an entire bag of Doritos while reading before turning off the light. Or a sleeve of crackers. Or a couple of bags of popcorn. It was a rare thing for me not to snack in bed before turning off the light. And it didn't matter how much I ate at dinner which was usually a lot. I got a big kick out of eating my last meal for the day before 4pm and having *nothing* to eat for the next ~15 hours back in August/September of 2012. That is what ticks me off so much when the mainstream stooges try to tell me that the only reason I lost weight with LC was because of a magical calorie deficit and there is nothing intrinsically better or different about restricting carbs.

Weigh-in this morning ... 179.7 for a point one bounce post-HIT which is atypical for me the morning after a HIT workout. I've been keeping an eye on the BF pounds the scale (supposedly) measures and it was down point seven from yesterday but that is still up from a few days ago which, I assume, is transient material. I'm curious to see tomorrow's WI.

no food since stopping at Sonic this morning at 715ish (2 side order of eggs, 3 side orders of bacon) and 44 oz water; ate when I got into my office so like 730a...a bit after 2p...CRAZY! I know this is why I love NK and how great it works when I work it right...
about to make my tuna/mayo (maybe hard boiled eggs if they didn't go bad...crossing my fingers they didn't!) for a late lunch...
I have to make a good impression this week with someone I've been waiting a long time to see again and I'm sooo happy that even though I'm not at my low weight right now I actually feel like I'm going to get back to it - staying focused!!!

the mini fridge in our dept is crap so the eggs went bad but did find some hard salami i'd brought in last week that seemed fine so ate that and had an old can of tuna in oil and one in water i found buried in my desk...just realized i didn't check the date on the can w/ oil which i know is way older than the one in water since i norm do not buy oil tuna...the mayo in the small fridge didn't smell funky so hoping it's ok...tuna tastes "ok" but in my head i'm like ummm it tastes too fishy or has a funk but i don't think it does so hoping my 0 carb meal doesn't kill me off from being old/spoiled/rotten!

I'm feeling better today and starting to get my appetite back. Another good thing about going full time at work is that I'll have more money for my food budget. I'm already planning my grocery list for when I get paid on Friday.

I DO KNOW one thing.....if it wasn't for you good people I would have gone off the rails a long time ago....and I would have been back where I started!!! Thank you! Have a great day.....talk later!
