Bunniee, it won't hurt you to try to some progesterone cream. If you feel better after using up a jar or a tube, keep using it. If you don't notice a difference then stop. I suggest that because there are so many things that we'll know by how we feel, not what the numbers say. Of course, I am not a doctor and you'll do what you think best for you. When I used them, I didn't do the tests first.

I went ahead and ordered a jar of Lifeflo progesterone cream - it's one of the recommended brands on Dr. Lee's website. I will definitely pay attention to how it makes me feel - I had to stop taking chasteberry herb (vitex) after 2 months because it made PMS symptoms even worse. I woke up early this am with a headache; wasn't sure if it was from allergies or lack of electrolytes. I took an excedrin and drank a cup of broth. I felt better right after drinking the broth, so I suspect it was from a lack of sodium. Breakfast was a bunless cheeseburger and coffee with hwc. It's rainy and freezing out, and I'm so glad I don't have to drive in to work.

Bunniee, do let us know what happens when you start using the cream. I find it helps identify and keep track of what my improvements are when I report somewhere that has people at the other end. Unlike Darin and Greta, and perhaps others, constant tracking just because I find enervating and thus don't do it...It is still below freezing here but we're done with the rain and sun is predicted to show itself this afternoon with a high in the 50s. Winter in Texas=short.

Just wanted to mention that Jenny Ruhl recently published a short book (more like a pamphlet) on how to deal with some of the problems that may arise with eating LC. It's a quick read and I found it to be very useful. If you don't have a Kindle device the book can be read on a computer, tablet, or smartphone with the reading app. Low Carb Problems Solved

Happy Tuesday all!
@bunniee Glad to see ya! I hope your headaches and other symptoms clear soon. Stay warm!
reepicheep1981 Congrats on the -12# Staying on track when super busy is great!
Grama's 93rd birthday party was lovely. Really got to connect with my Mom, Gma, & S-I-L. Food was weird-ground turkey spicy sloppy joes with plain potato chips and melon. ??? Needless to say, my family stopped for a snack on the way home to fill up.
Valentines eve was subdued. DH bought me a giant fuzzy green dinosaur holding "be Mine" heart. Very out of character. I don't even know where to put it. (2 1/2 feet tall sitting) We stayed in and watched family movie night. Good for us.
Planning Cub Scouts Blue & Gold ceremony for tonight (Boy Scouts birthday) and the pack voted on pizza. I'm going to swing by the store for a pre-made salad and try to be good. I had to make/decorate a cake with DS for the cake auction. I didn't sneak any! And don't plan on letting them bid on a cake to bring home. We just don't need it.
DH out of town for the week, so starting tomorrow I get to experiment on new LC foods. (Kids are dreading when Dad leaves-HA!) I'm researching today what I want to try. Hmmmmm the possibilities. I think I'll try Cauliflower alfredo.
Sorry to brag, but it is Sunny with a high of 57 deg today. I am LOVING the sun being out! Stay warm, my friends!

I made LC frozen yogurt pops last night. They turned out pretty good! I used Greek yogurt, heavy cream, orange and vanilla extracts, sugar free Torani syrup, and erythritol. They taste kind of like a creamsicle. I'm finding vinegar to be extremely helpful on days when I can't seem to stop eating, even if I'm only eating LC foods. I take a tablespoon twice a day - mixed with a little water and gulped down like a shot, then follow with plain water. Vinegar has been shown to reduce blood sugar and even help with weight loss. Vinegar intake reduces body fat mass

Yesterday went well. I stuck to my plans. The dinner buffet went well, some one brought an appropriate salad (I picked off the Doritos topping) and I had a few berries too. And managed to avoid taking home one of the auction cakes! WIN!
Today is full of meetings and two Doctor's appointments (one for me, one for DS). So no rest for the weary. I haven't had time to grocery shop, so I'm not sure what dinner will be yet. But I've had my Nummy BP coffee and actually packed a great lunch for my lunch time staff meeting. Yum DS asked if I wanted some of his Cheetos for my lunch sack. So sweet to offer. Hope he wasn't offended when I laughed at him.

I hope everyone had a good day! I had some ground beef I needed to use up and it's one food I don't like to reheat, so for breakfast I mixed cooked, crumbled ground beef with scrambled eggs and cheese. Now I'm making a bacon cheeseburger for dinner. I was busy at work today and skipped lunch because I wasn't hungry. I even worked late, and was not super hungry when I got home. That was a relief because it's frustrating to feel like you want to eat all the things.

it is a great relief from the tyranny of food. Glad your day went well Bunniee and the sun came out. Yea!
Storytha, you are stringing some great days together. Keep it up! It's the consistency over time where we achieve our health goals.
I am getting closer and closer to a way of eating that works great for me. I am avoiding cheese at home because it is a trigger food for me. I will eat it out but not bringing any dairy to the house and doing my best to avoid the dairy that I buy for Mom's house...as you will recall I sleep at my Mom's six nights a week. I come here about 5 p.m. each evening so it is many hours to fill and trolling the kitchen is often a habit here. I've strung a couple of non-eating at Mom's and tomorrow I sleep at my own house where there isn't anything to lead me astray nor anything I would want to eat too much of. I am on a good trend! Fat loss would eventually follow.

rejoicealways8 - I've found that limiting trigger foods to eating out, or buying just 1 serving has helped. When I was off LC and tried hunger directed eating, this also helped me get over the idea of certain foods having some sort of magical power - when nothing is forbidden, things kind of lose their appeal. storytha - that was so sweet of your DS to offer to share his food, hopefully he understands that mom is trying to avoid carbs. I tested with ketostix this morning and it showed moderate to deep ketosis. I know the urine strips don't mean much once a person is fully keto adapted, but I think they are useful early on. Breakfast was Greek yogurt with hwc and a spoonful of my homemade sugar free strawberry jam. I will have to go grocery shopping after work because I have nothing to fix for dinner, unless I want a cheese omelet. I'm getting a little tired of eggs though.

So glad you are doing well Bunniee. I agree with what you say about limiting opportunities to eat certain things. I don't think, thankfully, any particular food as "I can't have that." I keep in mind that all choices are open to me and I balance that against what my health goals are.

When I was off LC and tried hunger directed eating, this also helped me get over the idea of certain foods having some sort of magical power - when nothing is forbidden, things kind of lose their appeal. It is so true. When I "fall off the wagon" and have a cheat day, I can't even remember what horribly tempting carby food I was craving and felt denied over. When I'm sitting there thinking: "ok, I can eat anything in the world right now-nothing is denied. What do I want?" and absolutely nothing comes to mind.
He was sweet. And he does know.
I have been meaning to get some more. I tend to ride the 50 carb line too much and could use them to see where I stand-at least for a little bit. So you put the HWC in the yogurt? Just to add fat or make it creamier?

Hey everybody--stringing a couple of good days together about food types and amounts. I am not measuring/tracking anything. Merely eating meat when I am hungry. I have a minor effort going to increase water, decrease coffee. A gently nudging of myself in that direction. I don't know if caffeine is affecting my ability to lose fat and I won't know unless I change something....so I am!

I am so stoked! I am having a Girls Night with two of my friends that I now only get to see maybe 2 times a year! We're all local, but all so busy. These were the Mom's I hung with at our stay-at-home Mom's club 10 years ago. Now two of us are working full time and one is going to nursing school. And you know how it goes: Cub Scouts, hockey, basketball, etc. Yup-busy!
The menu: LC Crab tarts, herbed cream cheese stuffed mushrooms, veggie tray w/ dip, cheese & sausage platter and either martinis or vodka and diet tonic. Wow, I can't believe how excited I am!
They are each bringing something to share so I'm going VLC today for lunch so I can taste. Just eggs and cream cheese.
Hope you all have a great weekend. I'll see you Monday.

Did your stuff arrive Bunniee?
I am having a super tough allergy day. When nothing stops the itching, sneezing, snorting--including using a neti pot, two different kinds of meds--it has me in its grip. Piffle.
I am sticking to on plan eating without difficulty, even when I am at my mom's. Maybe a week? Would love for energy levels to kick up and for scale number to kick down but me dealing with cedar fever this year it isn't happening. Too much body inflammation I assume. It'll pass.

Hello. Hope you all had a great weekend!
I had a wonderful Friday night with my girls! Stuck to the plan with one deviation of a bread stick, but was rewarded with a loss so not too much damage done.
Saturday was really laid back and Sunday DH came home-yay. Nice to have him back. We watched the Oscars and ate Texas Roadhouse take out.
I had the dinner salad set aside to eat for lunch today, but of course I forgot it at home. I think I'll hit Round Table-their salad bar is awesome.
Sunny but cold today. I wish you all a great Monday!

It's cold for us here--it's the predicted ice that gets us all weirded out but we've, thankfully, avoided all that. I don't have to be out in the traffic this morning which is fine because people 'round here drive strangely in such conditions.
I receive this pollen predictor daily and tomorrow it drops to .4 (on a scale of 1-10). It has been around 8 and 9 for weeks which has been my misery. It's cedar and oak. A respite is so welcome.
I am sticking to carnivory easy enough which means that, right now, I am eating ground beef exclusively. Carnivory is animal foods only. The one type of meat thing is just that I only want to deal with that right now. It isn't limited to that. Anything animal: eggs, dairy, meats of all varieties are what one chooses from. I am particularly pleased that I am not cruising Mom's kitchen in the evenings. That unwanted desire is stuffed in its box right now and I love that.
There is no evidence by scale nor clothes of fat loss right now. I keep going though. I am not going to fiddle with it for now for that effect. I am thinking when my body is ready and I stop being mean to it by going through intense rounds of stuffing it with junk (not long lived but definitely extreme) the results I want will come. Of course, this season with my mom can impact all that, too, and there's nothing for it.
Hope you are warm and toasty wherever you are.

Pizza is officially banned in my house now. I can not control myself with pizza! I ordered for the family but was too lazy to make my own dinner and thought "oh one slice won't be too bad" Gah! Try two and a half before I stopped.
And I made myself a lovely huge salad and protein shake for lunch and left it at home AGAIN! But now I have to run around on my lunch break which means hand held food with usually equals carbier than I would like. I will make a plan and stick to it! No more "Oops!"

Yesterday's numbers:
Cals 1273 fat 72.50 carbs 50.96 Prot 44.00
B- coffee w/ H&H L- 2 tacos D- taco salad w/ sour cream & salsa
Over did it a tiny bit on carbs but had a good day. Ordered a water at lunch and they gave me Sprite. I took a big ol' swig before realizing it=4.5 carbs estimated.
Today will end up being the 3rd day in a row where I have to run errands on my lunch hour. So I am researching hand held LC options on the internet. Making my plan before hand. I think life will slow down come Friday.

Pizza isn't allowed in my house. I could easy enough go out to eat with people at a pizza place and not feel the same temptation that I would in my house. I could always eat salad but could just as easy not eat when out with friends/family.

Yeah. My 12 and 10 year old kids weren't happy about my proclamation. Neither is my non-LC DH. They will just have to indulge while I'm at a late meeting or out of town!

I had a good day yesterday, but a rough night. I'm exhausted and this is my really long day with 2 meetings after work. Told the family they were on their own for dinner-think I'll find an empty pizza box when I get home??? As long as it IS empty, that's fine.
Yesterday's numbers: Cals 1315 fat 78.98 Carbs 50.39 Prot 55.45
B- coffee L- double burger D- salad w/ ham, cheese, & boiled egg
I've brought my protein shake to work and have a good plan for the first part of the day. I don't know what I'll do for dinner yet. I have to swing by a bakery before my night meetings so I should eat something LC so I'm not tempted.

Way to go Storytha! You got some LCHF snack thing you could daily add to get your calories up consistently?
You think we're the only ones left here?
My sleep has improved by the simplest thing. When I sleep at home (1 night a week) I have a comforter on my bed that is just right for warmth and weight. It ought to be, right? Where I sleep 6 nights a week, at Mom's, there is a quilt and two blankets I pile on. It isn't that cold there, I like to be toasty. It dawned on me a few days ago to throw a sweater on that on my feet. Voila! Enough weight and I've slept much better. Odd I know but it is so.

Hi all. I completely forgot to weigh in today. But I'm feeling pretty good. the swelling in my hands and feel/ankles is gone. I'm really craving a cheese burger today (bun-less of course). I think I'll swing by the store on my way home. Maybe grab some bacon too. Gotta love "diet food"

Yea, that bacon diet food is the bomb. I have been eating to plan every day for a couple of weeks now. Less coffee and more water. I am letting that happen naturally, not forcing a change in ratio. Our community chorale is having a performance tomorrow evening and that is fun. No food involvement so that doesn't impact any need to buck up to avoid food types. I did go to a hang out at a restaurant this evening. I ate before I went, had one glass of wine and called it a day. All good!
