Darrin, it stands for "personal record".. if someone PRs a 10k, they've run it faster than ever before. Ah. I never would have figured that out. Public relations. Professional run. Power Run. heh Thanks

I wanted to get down to the beach early today so that motivated my 6:30 am run. Started raining a half mile in. Turned around and ran home.

I did participate It was a fun time; 100% chance of rain, but it didn't actually rain while I was on the course. I didn't PR, but ran more than half of it and had a blast... Awesome! What is PR? PR=Personal Record; I would have been looking for a personal record for 10K distance if I hadn't had surgery, but the Peachtree is probably not a good race for that anyway since 60,000 people run it...

How are the "guns" Red? Do you measure your upper arm diameter to track your bicep hypertrophy? -- Phillip Hiya Phillip! Long time no post :) Gah!!! I did not! I did take photos before I started doing anything so I have before pics. And I've been taking progress pics. I tell you what though, I think I will measure now. I just started doing the Monster Sets that Mike Change described. How do you measure your arms? I can see the difference in my arms, forearms too, and my chest is vastly improved. :) Either with a tape measure, or a piece of string/yarn that you then measure with a ruler, or whatever. Same as you would measure your waist. Seems like now would be a good time to start measuring for you. Your weight is low. (You weigh the same as me, but are, what 4" taller? I am 5'8".) So that means most weight training will result in quick hypertrophy. I am thinking at some point increases in your LBM could outstrip your losses of fat. If you only use your scale to measure progress from here on out, it can get demotivating, I would imagine. That said, I never did the measurements myself -- too lazy. But I was focused on the increases in weight I was lifting. So as my body weight went up from 175lb to 185lb, I knew most of the weight gain was from muscle hypertrophy, not fat. If you don't want to get too much into exercise, then you might want to think of what metrics you will use to measure your progress. I guess you could post monthly torso shots here. But Casey kind of upstaged you there with her gluten belly picture. Hard to compete with that... -- Phillip

I have a tape measure so I'll use that Boy I really wish I'd have measured before I started because I can see and feel the difference and it'd be interesting to know the measured amount of increase. Chest too, I can see a big difference there as well. Vanity may finally overcome my reticence to post before and after pics. I have pics from when I started LC with my big, big belly, but just being a lot skinnier wasn't enough to overcome my 'man I look stupid' insecurity about posting B&A photos. After about 7 months of daily weigh-ins I am mostly impervious to the emotional treachery engendered by the scale, and in any case, I've been thinking about staying in the 180s as a muscular person versus the 170s as just a slender person.

Good morning! I think I'm starting to get back to where I was before I went on vacation. I'm down a pound since yesterday, which is awesome because I cheated. I made myself a really good breakfast (scrambled eggs, peppers, tomato, mushrooms, avocado) and put together a grilled chicken salad for lunch/dinner, then I got to work at someone had brought in cupcakes. I had to have one. And later I had a small ice cream sandwich because it was waaaay hot out. I stayed out til about 4am last night and had a few hard ciders as well. But hey, 4th of July is a time for celebration.
I'm going to a BBQ tonight so hot dogs and hamburgers will be happening.
I really should go to CrossFit today and I really don't want to. I didn't get much sleep since I got in late and starting at 7am sirens were penetrating my dreams, and that went on for a while. Plus my neck kind of hurts for some reason. And it's very hot. I know I'm just making excuses but it's my day off and I just don't feeeeel like it *whine*

Good morning kids!! For those who celebrated our nations holiday yesterday, I hope you had good fun, made lasting memories and unlike me stayed dry thru the fireworks displays! For those who didn't, again, I hope your day was fun and made lasting memories...without the fireworks of course I've decided I have break down and buy a new scale today. Mine has become demon possessed and seems to be making up numbers that don't exist on what we typical humans would call earth. To type out the whole sordid story would not only take up way too much space, you would fall asleep half way thru reading it. Trust me, I am not that interesting. Needless to say, when you change batteries in your scale and gain 8 lbs in 20 minutes...you know you have a problem! I finally decided to buy a new one after going to my brother's house last night, and using his scale to find out I actually weigh almost 10 pounds less than my own scale tells me!! My two options became very clear at that point...steal his...or invest in my own. Since my sister in law would notice if her scale went missing, I decided to opt for choice #2. So, after drinking my CO infused coffee, and getting dressed..Im off to fight the masses at Wally World. Wish me luck!! May your day be filled with blessings and smiles my friends!! I am a low-carbin' fat girl on a mission! Cover me...I'm going in!!!

I wish I had taken some before photos. A LOT of people have commented that I look like I've lost weight. I think it's because the last place I had gained it was around my face/neck, and that area thinned out quickly when I started losing.
I'm just going to explain my schedule now since I'm new here. I usually only eat two meals a day. I work evenings (4pm-midnight) and I sleep late. I usually get out of bed sometime between 9am-11am, then I'll either hit the noon CrossFit class and have my protein shake immediately after, or skip CrossFit and eat breakfast around noon. Then I'll eat a second meal when I get to work around 4-5pm. So when I say "lunch/dinner," I mean that second meal that is somewhere in between. But sometimes I'll have a "dinner" dinner around 9pm.
My schedule is all kinds of weird. And now you know a little more about me. : )

Cheryl - if you could send some of that rain over to TX, that would be great. We are still in a drought, and I live in an area where it's extreme. I had peanut butter oatmeal for breakfast and it was good, but I'm starting to miss eggs so I might pick up a dozen or so today.

Bought me a new scale and started seeing weight loss. Of course there were other factors but a new scale that shows better results helps you to know what is and isn't working. A wanky scale is just too confusing. My new scale stays shiny and loved while that old one that was an ugly potty mouth stays dusty and ignored under the shelf. I think I will give that old one to someone at LCFs.

I started taking D3 a few weeks ago and I was sitting in the sun this morning and I just don't burn. Before it was pitiful how I pinked up. I also started taking Cod Liver Oil pills and my skin has gotten very soft. I don't know which does it. But I like it.
