Does anyone own a digital food scale, aka kitchen scale? I would like to buy one, and I am wondering which brand(s) I should look for, and which should be avoided.
Thanks!

I have a good cook electronic scale. It was the cheapest one at Walmart. I have had it 7 year maybe more. I like it. It work really good.

I use a WW scale but it has a lot of features that are specific to WW so it isn't worth the expense really. Mine is a loaner from Mom. Whatever you get make sure it has the tare function where you can weigh something, zero it, add something to the dish and get the weight of that item, etc. I'd be surprised if you can find a digital one without that feature though.

That is pretty cool. You can wrap the image link in the URL link to make a linked image

That tare function is the bomb. I have actually weighed things right from my cast iron pan and it worked. I was shocked. If I want cheese on a salad I just put the plate with the salad on it on the scale and zero it out, then I just grate the cheese right onto the salad.

Very cool $70 bucks but built-in BT has a ton of possibilities. I bet it is running on Linux too so it could be hacked to do very super things.

I ordered mine from Amazon. EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale. I paid $25 for it. I love it!! It measures in grams, lbs, oz, and kg and has the tare feature.

So we have to measure food ? humm The absolute definitive no quarter asked and none given is ... maybe You don't have to unless you need to or want to. If you do everything right but are not getting results then you probably need to spend some time looking a little more closely at what you are doing. Or, if you just want to do it. I was stuck when I started NK so I have measured/weighed everything from the get go.

I have become a little obsessed with weighing my food. It gives me great comfort knowing exactly how much I am actually consuming. If it wouldn't embarrass my family, I would take it with me to restaurants.

lol I'd do that too but social norms being what they are I fear the gasps of surprise from my fellow patrons.
