storytha, I hope you stay well and don't catch that cold. I don't even want to think about cold and flu season. I'm already taking zinc but maybe should take more vitamin C to boost my immune system.
I've been averaging less than 1400 calories and 30 carbs per day over the last week. My appetite has been down, which is nice, but I think I will make the effort to have a high calorie day. Boosting calories every so often seems to help with weight loss and keeps me from feeling deprived.
I made the drive out to the herb farm yesterday and it's a neat place. They sell plants, herbs in dried and powdered form, and essential oils. I didn't get to spend much time there because I had an another appointment, but will definitely go back sometime.

insert code here So, Bunniee, what you got planned for your Tuesday of vacation? Yes, Storytha, keep that good momentum going. You are doing so well. Hope your family is all well soon and you stay so. I am up super early again today so weighing isn't a good thing. I am creeping slowly down to the 120s. I still haven't returned to the place I was on the 7th. I am determined though and am feeling better control over eating impulses of the not-very-good kind.

I'm going out to the thrift store in a bit to look for things I can wear in a smaller size. Most of my skirts are unwearable now, they are just too big and look ridiculous. It's a good problem to have! I might treat myself to a Five Guys bunless burger for lunch.

I did pretty good yesterday. Realized the "LC" wraps I bought end up being so close to real bread it's rediculous. What a waste of money. The dog won't even eat them.
Cub Scouts start tonight so my Tuesdays are back to being busy. DS is home sick so he won't be going. But since I'm the Webelos 1 Scout leader, I still have to go. This year is going to be awesome, though! Planning on camping, canoeing, Veteran's day parade, etc.
thave a great Tuesday!

I skipped Five Guys and ate a large roast beef & cheddar sandwich on sourdough bread for lunch. Not LC at all, but I didn't overeat or fall into the mindset of thinking well I've blown it and should just eat whatever.
I found a nice skirt and cardigan at my favorite thrift store, and will probably go to a different one tomorrow.

It is so much fun to shop for smaller sized clothes! Way to go Bunniee!
Storytha--there has been much online a while back about how low-carb breads are not actually...no truth in advertising kind of a thing. Really is best to stay aware from that stuff. Besides it being expensive. Your Cub Scouts sounds like lots of fun for you and the littles.
I did weigh in this morning: Drum roll please! 129.8. 7.2 pounds in about a month. That is super good for me. I am off the HCG now and am feeling good about control today. I have that "last 10 pounds" to go which ain't bad at all.

If I want bread, I get the flourless sprouted grain kind. It's about 12 carbs per slice but the ingredients look far better to me than most low carb breads.
I made an omelet with bacon cheddar for breakfast, to get myself back on LC eating. I've been forgetting to use gelatin the last couple of days, and made sure to mix in a tablespoon with my coffee this morning.

So today I'm already up to 43 Carbs after lunch. I'd better buckle down for dinner!!
Tuesday's numbers: Cals 1198 Fat 70.49 Carbs 39.68 Prot 50.69
WI: I've lost a few more water weight pounds from last week, but still not down to my before trip weight.
DH leaves town tomorrow through Sunday. I always threaten to try new receipies while he is gone. I've printed of a lot to try. We'll see if I follow through.
Girl friend wants a Girls night-in (which is better than out-I can contribute food I can eat). I'm going to be able to keep the drinking under control because I will be driving, so this is actually a good thing.
DS tried to go to school today (I thought he was feeling better, no fever, etc) but I got a call about an hour after school started. Fever, sore throat, tears. Poor buddy! I took time off work and picked him up. He's nestled onto the couch with a blanket, large cup of Sprite, a box of tissues, and Scooby Doo cartoons. I'm sure he's feeling better now. Nurse said Strep might be going around. I just gave him Tylenol for the fever. DH will check him later this afternoon to see if he needs to go to the clinic.

Poor little guy. No fun when our little ones are sick. Cub Scouts went well last night?
I've had a good food day and I am pleased. I will want to start tracking something soon but not yet.

Hey Storytha, if you're sticking to your plan it'll happen. Jettisoning weight isn't linear . Keep up the good habits. It's happening and it will show up on the scale.

Hello everyone. I've found my way back to NK. It sure seems like life is such a challenge these days and I find myself spiralling downward as far as self esteem goes. August and September are always a very hard time for me where work is concerned. I create, implement and monitor budgets, work 10 hr days and this year it seems worse as I still manage to bring work home with me. Maybe it's just my mood that makes it worse? I did finally get a job offer earlier this month after applying non-stop for 18 months, but after much inner struggle, I turned it down. It just didn't feel right for us. Now of course I'm second guessing myself that I should have taken the job no matter what and I'm convinced another opportunity will ever come.........in short, I'm a nut!!
As for diet, I should never have stopped the monitoring of my glucose and ketones. As of today, I'm back to tracking. At first I did ok, but then I began to add back veggies, higher carb, and then added more stuff. After 7 months I craved new food choices and was really hating logging everything in sparks. I was confident I could continue to lose and remain in ketosis without testing and logging. I reached out to the The Real Meal Revolution as I thought if I could just stay in the green list I could maintain ketosis and not have to log all my foods daily in sparks, etc.......and well, that just isn't working. I find myself hating BPCs and am struggling with finding ways to increase the CO. I am now back to a LCHF smoothie for breakfast, then a couple ozs of protein at lunch with the dreaded BPC, then a moderate evening meal. I have not weighed myself in several weeks. How stupid to be that fearful of weight? There has to be something wrong with me. To me that fear translates into an abnormal self image and that punishment is coming. Sad as the punishment is only coming from me. I do need to lose the weight and get back into daily ketosis as my heart and wellbeing is much better, so why do I struggle so with doing what's best and more important medically necessary for me? I know that in the next couple weeks I must take an entire week off from work. I have to use 19 days vacation before the end of the year. Maybe then I can get back into a better routine, try slowly walking on my treadmill and stop being so unforgiving of my missteps.
I will go back now and read some of the many posts I've been missing. I hope all of you have been achieving some of the goals you've set.
I'll check back in later. Have a great day everyone!!

Well, jumped on the dreaded scale and am not surprised by the number. My clothes are much tighter so I knew it would be bad. I've regained 14 pounds.......OY! I've logged the number, tested my blood and planned the day's consumption in Sparks. I've added fiber to the monitoring so I can now calculate the Net carbs by deducting them from the carb number. I'm going back to the macros that resulted in weight loss and really hope I don't back slide.
Off to make a LCHF smoothie, Brownie Batter recipe with modifications. 56g of Fat, 9g of Protein and only 12.8 net carbs. It should easily hold me until I have a very small lunch.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Do any of you do IF? Like all the time? I checked out another ketogenic site and they have a download you get for joining the newsletter and they have a 30 day plan. By the time you hit the 4th week, you're only eating once a day and NOTHING for breakfast and lunch, not even a BPC. I don't know that I could ever get to eating once a day, every day. How about you? If I ate when I get home from work which is late, then have to fix something to eat, and it's only the one large meal, then only an hour or so to bed.......gee, I'd be sleeping on a full stomach.

Evening everyone. I've managed to stay on the keto track today. Evening BK was .6 and my BG was 89 this AM and 99 after my evening meal. Not bad for being bad for so long. Hope to see the scale drop in the next few days.
I posted links to a couple of new videos on the main forum. Give them a look if you've a mind too. Okay, off to clean the kitchen up and head for bed.
Have a good day tomorrow. May your ketones burn that fat!

Evening All. I jumped on the scale this morning and was down 1.5 pounds. Can you see me smiling?
Made it through another day without straying. A small victory and a new beginning. Just finished eating and posted a fabulous bread recipe in our recipe forum. I love the taste and the texture. I promise, if you follow the directions in the video that goes with the recipe, it will NOT disappoint.
My BK was .6 last night but dropped to .2 this morning. My BG was 99 after dinner and fasting BG this morning was 94.
I hope all is well with you. Off to research some more recipes.

KK! So good to have you back and posting. When we stray off what we know is a better way of eating for us, all it means is that when we come back to our right mindset, we jump back in just as you are doing. The wandering off is common to us. If we can keep the duration shorter and farther and farther apart we are being kindest to ourselves.
As far as IF, I do do it regularly in that I usually don't eat breakfast and often finishing eating by 5 p.m. Well, that was when I was sleeping at my own house all the time. Now that I am here at Mom's six nights a week, I often eat later than that, mostly out of boredom. I do the IF because I am not usually hungry in the morning--especially with coconut oil in coffee. And I know that generally saying I've eaten for the day by 5 helps keep my kitchen wanderings at night at bay. I haven't conquered that at Mom's yet. I am getting better, though.
I have started today logging what I intend to eat in advance for the day. (I use fatsecret just because. Not saying it is any better than anything else. I started using it a few years ago and it is easy enough to use.) I have been freestyling it for the past week and of course that means up numbers. Rather than letting it get out of hand, I am addressing it right now. I also have committed to myself to five 15-minute segments of burning energy this week. Yes, it is a low bar so that I can easily succeed at it. This morning I'll be out in the yard pulling weeds at least, maybe pushing a lawnmower. We'll see.

Yesterday went well and my numbers are pretty good for me! I think I need to add the protein shakes back in. I was getting tired of the taste but they really put me over the top. Monday's numbers: Cals 1732 Fat 122.57 Carbs 37.14 Prot 71.47 Sodium 2550 B-Coffee w/ HWC, CO, Liquid stevia, Another coffee at work w/ half & half and 1 Sweet-n-low. L- Fried eggs, bacon, few bites of hashbrowns w/ ketchup, water D- taco meat & cheddar, ketchup, water w/ mio S- Macadamia nuts, string cheese w/ humus, crystal light No WI TOM is threatening. I feel slightly bloated so I didn't want to weigh in and distract myself. It's been months since last time, so I'm not sure what symptoms to expect. I may stay off the scale for a while (but stay ON plan!) I read an article (I'll see if I can find it again) that showed clinical reports that artificial sweeteners change the flora in our gut which then renders us glucose intolerant. I've heard the bull SH## that those who drink diet soda tend to be more obese but DUH! maybe the fat people choose the diet drink after gaining the majority of their weight? This is the first time I've seen clinical trials in mice and humans. VERY interesting to me. Makes sense. I am a artificial sweetener addict. I've showed you my food/drinks for today. This is with consciously cutting back. My usual day would have been: B- 2 Sweet-n-low (sometimes 4) L- 32oz diet coke D- Mio in water S- 24oz more diet coke, mio in water, crystal light, Sugar free chocolate candy or atkins bars. Can you imagine how much of that crap I've put in my body for the last 42 years? So how to I wean myself off? I like my coffee sweet, I like my water flavored, I like having an occational sweet treat with out blowing my carbs. I've gone back to my liquid stevia drops for my coffee but it takes 20 drops and it's still not as sweet tasting as two packets of S-n-L. (And def more expensive) I think more research is in order. For example, what can I do to change my gut bateria back to "normal"? Have a great Tuesday! Life is always full of new things to learn!

Hey kiddos. Well the losing continues. Weighed in this morning another pound less. That's 2.5 drop from starting back. I know it can't last but it feels good right now. I've remained on track today, 3 days in a row....woohoo. Working 10 hrs days and getting home a bit late, but planning ahead helps when I get home to grab and eat without being tempted by the junk my hubby has everywhere.
Rejoicealways, I think I'm a ways off from trying IF. I know many do it, but I don't want to be hungry on this new WOE as I think that it might cause me to eat something I shouldn't, especially if I'm at work and have nothing but junk all around. Glad it's working for you tho. I'll keep it in the back of my mind.
Well, off to play with a new toy........a dehydrator for my awesome kale chips.
Great evening everyone!

Ate very little dinner as I wasn't hungry before Scouts but afterwards I kept snacking. Good news is I stayed away from the pumpkin pie DH bought. I'm researching LC pumpkin mousse or cheesecake for this weekend so I don't feel deprived. I'll share what I find.
Weather cooling off here. I finally get to wear my office blazer. Stylin'! Even accidentally matched my travel coffee mug. Score.

Hey kids. Another .25 loss. All going well.
I've been searching for more pumpkin custards and have a few I might try. Maybe I'll add them to my original pumpkin custard post. I have to go eat as I'm starving this afternoon. First time I'm feeling deprived....lol.
I'll try to check back later.

Keep it going KK! Feels good to be in control of what goes into your mouth right? Well we always are. In control in a way that is to our benefit might be a better way to think of it.
Speaking of that, this will be day 3 of fiddling with macros before the day begins and then sticking to it. After that luscious 128.X number of a week ago--I stopped paying attention in such a manner that I zoomed up to 134.x. I wasn't eating out of the realm of LCHF. Just too much food. Piffle. This morning back to a 131 number and I am feeling determined, disciplined and strong to continue with the figuring out in advance and sticking to it. I don't like that necessarily but I do want to return to the lower 120s where I was a year ago and so that means a change of behavior for me all the time. Not just sometimes. My expectation is the 120s will be mine again a few days. Always something right?
I love pumpkin pie. Best eaten as breakfast food the morning after the Thanksgiving feast. I don't think I made any last year. I can happily do without an actual pie, the crust isn't important to me. I posted the Nourished Kitchen's pumpkin custard over on the thread that KK started about these kinds of recipes.

Wnesday numbers: Cals 1244 Fat 72.36 Carbs 31.72 Prot 47.62 Man those pumpkin custards look AWESOME! I can't wait until this weekend to try making one. Thank you! There is still left over pumpkin pie in my fridge but I reached right over the top of it to get the pickle jar. Willpower! But I know I'm going to get a treat this weekend so it's ok. I'm having a fair amount of swelling again. Feet, ankles, and fingers. Pretty sure it's TOM being a weirdo. Also been missing one of my perscriptions for 4 days (hormones) I wonder if that is contributing. I pick up the refill today. So no weigh in. I don't need false readings. I am starting to run out of lunch ideas that make my mouth water. Most things sound "meh". I might have to try a new restaurant today to shake things up. Have a great Thursday. I thought it was Friday when I woke up

Rejoice, you'll get there again. Keep it up! You have such a wonderful attitude.
Storytha, impressive reaching over something we shouldn't have! So hard to live with others that aren't following this WOE. Let us know if you try any of those pumpkin custards. I will more than likely try another one this weekend.
Well, yesterday I had another .25 loss, total since I started back is 3.0 lbs. This morning, I'm the same weight as yesterday. Have a day out of town and am stressing a bit on how to stay on track. Decided to make version of a BPC for breakfast with a couple ozs of protein like grilled chicken on the side. Then I made a LCHF smoothie for the ride up. Hopefully that will hold me until I get home this afternoon. Have some crock pot pork I can eat as soon as I walk in the door. So, I think I can do this!
My FBK was up to .7 this morning. This is the first day in months that I've maintained NK come morning. It's usually .3 with an occasional .4. I worried a bit as last night I ate a few of my fabulous kale chips. I guess my body likes them and rewarded me with a .7.....lol.
Ok, off to work. Only a 3 hr day and then some fun buying organic veggies from our COOP I can dehydrate in my new dehydrator.
Have a great day everyone!!!!
