[Edited! I figured out how to combine two pics to make one side by side pic. Much easier to view both images together this way. Edited text to reflect the new photo.] Before Pic: This pic is actually me at 245 pounds rather than my start weight of 265. I didn't think of doing a before pic until I'd lost 20 pounds and that happened in just a couple of weeks after starting LC back in 2011. This pic is from October 21st 2011. After Pic: I thought I had a more recent post-McGuff workout pic but I realized when I was creating this thread I hadn't taken any yet. I'll snap some after my next workout which is scheduled for the 10th. [ETA: Oops, forgot to say the date of this pic. It is from 07/28/2013.] The after is a bit grainy from reducing the file size. I'm still trying to get a handle on Gimp for photo editing. This one is right after my old workout routine so I was scowling for a reason.

WOOWZER!! Do you know how many inches you have lost? No, not from my original 265 or the 245 in the photo. The first time I used a tape measure around my belly at belly button level was on the 10th of September 2012. At that time I weighed 203 and I measured myself at 44". On the 1st of this month I measured 37" at 184 pounds. I shudder to think how big the measurement would have been back at 265. Gawd awful for sure. Also, I lost almost all of my weight without exercise. I was 191 when I started my first exercise routine which was just a few pushups and a few curls. I weighed 188.5 when I finally started doing anything that might really be considered a workout and that was only every other day under 25 mins for the workout each time.

Look at those abs!! Wow, seriously, so awesome!!! I shudder to think how big mine would have been at 265 too! I don't really measure, don't seem to have the patience for it; did start out w/ some measurements so some day could go back and see what they looked like but def didn't start at my highest weight (which was sadly prob more than the 265 even...I go w/ 263 since last weight recorded at doc office before the time I went in Jan 2012 and was at 225ish and jumped onto the LC lifestyle)
Crazy to think how far we've all come! You look great!!!

Daaaang, that is amazing progress! I don't know if you were planning on losing any more weight, but it looks to me like you are ready for maintenance. Actually, I still have plenty of fat to lose. You can see in the sideways pic the fat still on my lower belly and I have love handles that need to go too. I should have mentioned it already but in those before pics I was careful to stand in a neutral way. My belly really did stick out like that. I wasn't ya know pushing it out or anything. Dang I had a big belly. I always hated that belly. It was great for balancing my plate of carby food on but that isn't really a plus in the grand scheme of things.

Thank you all for your compliments! You'd all still be waiting if I wasn't so jazzed about my progress with my workout routine I think pics I take of myself look awful. I know I can look good in a picture because I've seen photos of myself that looked good but boy howdy I look crappy when I take a pic of myself.

Oh gosh, it's awful hard to take a decent looking picture of yourself. Plus the camera really does add a few pounds.

Plus the camera really does add a few pounds. Ah Jeez Cheryl. Saying something like that is a definite no-no on this site.

Wow you can tell you look more cut in just a months time. Biceps look bigger too. Yeah, much more than the difference in weight would suggest. I think I was 182.x in the first pic and I figure 177.x is probably close to my real weight in the second pic even though the scale showed a bit higher that morning. I have a shot from 6/17/13 showing my R bicep in a contracted position and I took one in the same pose this morning and the difference in cut is dramatic. I'm a bit surprised at the cut look though. I thought I'd lost all the body fat in that area a long time ago but apparently not. And, although you can't see it in a 2D photo, my biceps are thicker, much thicker, than they were before I started HIT.

reddarin, you are looking skinny! Thanks Lisa It is so odd because I thought I was pretty dang skinny when I weight 205 but that extra 25 pounds I've lost with NK makes a huge difference in appearance.

I wonder if some of the difference is not just the extra weight lost, but an improved muscle to fat ratio with NK.

I wonder if some of the difference is not just the extra weight lost, but an improved muscle to fat ratio with NK. Possibly. I've looked through my food logs from last year and as I recall my protein was not particularly low. Mostly I was doing a LCHF approach because I joined a 85/10/5 challenge in the LCHF sub-forum at the evil site. I'm still a bit stunned that an appropriate body weight for my height and frame size is around 170. I'm wearing 32s right now but if I get down another 10 pounds I may end up having to wear a belt or go to 30s. I don't remember ever wearing 30s even in high school. As it is I have to hitch up my 32s every once in a while.

Wow, Darin, that's an amazing transformation! Congratulations!!!! Nice to put a face with the name, too. Thank you It is even more amazing in the first person lol. Hardly a day goes by that there isn't some little thing that I can do now without that big belly that I couldn't do when I was so big. I'm so thankful for Dr. Atkins, Drs. Phinney and Volek, Jimmy Moore's dedication with his podcasts, and all the people here and at the Evil Forum that helped me think through my approach to LC/NK.
