Measuring Your Frame Size Take your measurement on the forearm side (rather than the hand/finger side) of the wrist bone using a tape measure. Below are the various frame sizes per measurements for men and women. Once you know your frame size, here is a good chart: www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm[hmmm. still acting weirdly. If it doesn't work for some reason just copy and paste it into your browser's URL thing and that should work] http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm ...you can use to find an appropriate goal weight. Don't take it for granted that you are small framed or large framed. Measure it. Women: Height under 5'2" Small = wrist size less than 5.5" Medium = wrist size 5.5" to 5.75" Large = wrist size over 5.75"
Height 5'2" to 5' 5" Small = wrist size less than 6" Medium = wrist size 6" to 6.25" Large = wrist size over 6.25"
Height over 5' 5" Small = wrist size less than 6.25" Medium = wrist size 6.25" to 6.5" Large = wrist size over 6.5" Men: Height over 5' 5" Small = wrist size 5.5" to 6.5" Medium = wrist size 6.5" to 7.5" Large = wrist size over 7.5"

this doesnt make sense for me, it puts me over the large frame size for women yet i can feel the bones in my wrist (ie my wrists have no fat on them)@ 7" (19cm), but i'm in no way a big frame, i remember when i was skinny (lol) and i'm a pretty small frame, maybe i just have big bones in my wrists
ok, if i do the elbow measuring thing i'm a small frame...weird

You are measuring just past the bone not on the bone Deb?

I always thought I was a large framed man but actually I am medium framed and that seems to be correct since my 6' medium frame weight range on that chart is 157-170. When I got down to 186 back in October I still had another 15 to 20 pounds (I think) to lose to get rid of my belly fat.

Interesting. So, I am large framed. Always thought so, but told otherwise and that I needed to weigh around 120. They say 137-150, so my goal of 150 or less is reasonable. Thanks. Loving this.

Weirdness... I've always considered myself small to medium framed. This puts me WAY above those measurements. My wrist measures at large!!! I'm not upset by it, just blown away.

I can't access the chart linked though... is it still correct? I just get a blank screen.

Wow. I'm a "broad"/large body frame. I never would have guessed. But when I was a skinny teenager my shoulders and rib cage were wider than my equally skinny girlfriends. Says my goal weight should be 138-155. I thought of 150 as my high goal weight and my low goal weight of 135 which I secretly wanted to see as it was the weight I was when I married 21 years ago. Guess I really should bump my goal up. Good to know. Thanks!

Well, that is strange. It was not working for me either. I changed the post to make it easy to copy and paste the URL if it acts weird for you.

This is an interesting topic - but if you check the link, their recommended method of measuring isn't the wrist, it's the elbow. ??? Maybe the "error" in sizing is where you're measuring, not the calculator? Instructions are at the bottom of the page on that link....
