That's exciting Darin.
More calories Storytha, I say. Didn't you only have like 1000 yesterday? That's about the amount my 91-yr-old mom needs for her sedentary lifestyle.

Happy Thursday all. I am not tracking anything for about a week now. It's too much for me. I am easily eating with the range of food for NK and not concerned at all about too many carbs. Am I eating too much food? What is happening on the scale? No idea for both those questions at the moment.

Weigh-in this morning 182.5 for a solid point six bounce which is business as usual for me on random bounces. I checked my rolling four week average for today versus 30 days ago and I am down 6.32.

Ok, I did better Wednesday.
Cals 1864 Fat 157.76 Carbs 44.88 Prot 75.17
Luckily I was pretty low carb yesterday because I made the mistake of sitting down with the whole bag of pistachios. Duh! 3 ounces later I finally stopped.
WI was same as yesterday. I think the late night snacking and salt held me there.
Going out to dinner for my BFF's birthday tonight. The restaurant is a local joint with no real website or menu posted so I'm going to go really LC during the day so I can have some room for dinner. Every place has salads. Even brew pubs.

Weigh-in this morning 181.1 and down one point four for a mini-whoosh but only if compared to yesterday's strange bounce. The day before yesterday was 181.9 so if yesterday had been a modest drop today would have just continued that trend over time.

Purdy good. DD liked it. It was to weak for my liking and I just can't get myself to like stevia.
But it was still nice for a change.

I use whatever I have on hand that I know I like I mean, unless there is a specific reason for the choice like baking properties or something. "weak for my liking and" You know that is something I've always thought about recipes that call for brewed coffee. The coffee taste is overpowered by the other ingredients in short order. Maybe if you brewed a pot of 2x or 3x strength? Or just use a super strong batch of instant coffee. I like subbing instant coffee because you can add more crystals to the finished product if needed.

That's a good idea with the instant coffee.
I usually just end up back at good strong black coffee.

It's too much trouble for me to mess with special coffee drinks. Black coffee+coconut oil. If I am away from home, black coffee straight up.

Good morning all. Hope your Saturday is shaping up just the way you want it. Nothing special going on for me. Still eating (not off plan though), not tracking, not weighing. I am not out of control or anything. Merely don't want to.

The leaves are changing here. It sure is pretty. Getting chilly too. I am having a touch of allergies but keeping them under control really well. That is great cause at this time of year I used to struggle and have to take all kinds on medicine. Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

Hey, what is ya'lls opinion on how much fermented food to include in your way of eating? I can't recall ever hearing a recommendation on any of the podcasts I've listened to. You know, other than vague generalities like daily or weekly. I wonder if there is a minimum level for a therapeutic dose? I doubt that'll be a problem for me because if I like it I'll no doubt eat it in sufficient quantity. I was thinking about that while staring at my cabbage to see if there was any bubbling yet

Vague remembrances are that a little goes along way. No need to adopt the Western way of thinking that if a little is good, a lot is better. A bite or two with a meal as often as pleases you is good enough.

"the Western way of thinking" lol guilty as charged. And guilty as subtly charged too because I was thinking in terms of western portion sizes without regard to health benefits. But the east/west contrast made me think of how kimchi is eaten in Korea. They eat that stuff at every meal (seriously, breakfast too) and typically it is at least a fair sized portion it not quite the super sized portions we tend to eat of staple foods.

Yes, and they have been eating it all their lives and I also would guess, though, I do not know that they are not eating LCHF.

Yes, and they have been eating it all their lives and I also would guess, though, I do not know that they are not eating LCHF. Yep, pretty much as soon as a baby can eat solid food. Is there some drawback to overconsumption that you've heard of? Perhaps an adverse overgrowth of the good bacteria? I ate tons of kimchi for several years. It is interesting looking back on that time and wondering if I was healthier than I otherwise would have been. But I was in my 20s and we are all immortal during those years, no?
